All good words aside, I'll still take any of you (Mustang, DSM or otherwise) on a road course. :woowoo:
|
I'll take that challenge! My car isn't just a drag car, it has to handle good too. And you said "otherwise", let me grab the GSXR and my leathers
|
How does a bike handle turns compared to a car? I've never really known... I'd love to take you up on the track in somewhat equally powered cars.
|
You never said anything about equally powered cars! I was talking my car vs yours! Bikes have a disadvantage to all out race cars because of the small conact patch, but compared to a street car they do pretty well because of the instant acceleration. [/b][/quote]
You're trying to stay solidly in or possibly break out of the 11s... I'm paving my own road to hopefully be driving in SCCA club racing some day.
The only test of true driver skill is to compete in equally prepared cars.

John/Moonunit do you still live at home? Maybe I should swing by with the Talon and give you a run down the frontage road this spring!

Goddamnit! I get home from work and all the fun has ended. Damn Second and a half shift. I wanted to reply to Roast'em's responses. My mom's 18 sec corolla would do so well...
On a serious note, damn that was a long ass thread til Casey finally locked it. Fun winter BS.
PS:
Nash: Sorry, didn't mean to bring you up.

Yea, some of those Mustang guys are just fucking pathetic. I won't name names but if anyone feels like reading any of my posts over there it should become evident. I get so much shit for driving an LTD and a Spirit, the Spirit will probably be faster than half the cars on that board when it's done. (hopefully). I've been told that I'm not allowed at University ever again. Just pisses me off, Akromix and I are the outcasts of that board. Oh well, just thought I'd chat with some people that share my thoughts.

I don't care about people posting my set up, how much power my car makes, or what they think I will run. I haven't tried to hide it, nor do I think I will. I just don't want to be called out by someone because they think I was one talking shit. I guess I really don't even care about that, I just plan on doing all my talking at the track if my car stays together.

If you guys want me to take down what I wrote about what I think you guys are going to run I will. But what I don't get is some people actually got upset that I forgot to include them on that list. Others chimed in and were like my mph's are way off, etc....
Seriously though aren't we all trying to have fun? Why should a post about what someone thinks your going to run, bother you? I'd be happy that people are recognizing your hard work and trying to give you praise for it. But hey that's fine if you want to give people shit for giving you cars compliments. (in Xrated's case)

What time frame do you guys want to have a shootout? It sounds like June - July is getting the most backing. Does that work for everyone?

Fuck, I'm down for sure. Especially confident cuz I had to put down a couple Z28s a couple weeks ago. Granted they were from a roll, around 30/35mph, we couldnt get a stop light. But I dont care either way, whether I win or lose. I'll race just about anyone.

I didn't read the other forum and only read the last two pages of this one. I have a solution. We park DSM's on one side of the block, Mustangs on the other. Each side will nominate one person to represent the group. That person will be required to ride a tricycle around the block 24 times stopping for a beer each lap. First one to finish wins.
It worked in the movies.

about TCStangs. i can really only speak for myself, but ive always assumed a lot of people are the same way.
basically, it was fun. its winter, i dont work until late night...couldnt sleep...nothing to do.... you get the picture.
there are people on tcstangs that may be red faced leaning over there keyboard hammering out the angriest message they can with their pinkys right now, i dont know. but im just having fun and so are a lot of other people (a lot of you too i assume)
my point being, lets all get back over to tcstangs and get that thread past 50 pages of shit talking :toast:

I don't know why people are getting so gung ho, shit we are still going to get more snow, and winter isn't over yet. However I have felt like it is summer since Jet and I were changing a head gasket on his winter beater. It reminds of when we did his two or three times last year. And they still suck just as bad.
Hearing about all you guys up at UNI makes me want to go and get my car out of storage, but that means a bunch of work too. :headache:
Hey Alan, your so hot when you get pissed off. :stick:
