Re: Nopi Nationals Sept 24-25 Moroso

The CAS has a slot to go into. You probably have it 180* out. Take it back off and spin it 1/2 turn, then put it back in.

Re: Nopi Nationals Sept 24-25 Moroso

Well I just pulled the CAS and the injectors thinking I could see if the #2 injector was firing or not, and Ya that's just about the stupidest things I've done, Basically it's what I get when I try to rush something and not think it through.

Basically as soon as I turned the CAS - the #4 cylinder injector shot out the bottom of the fuel rail dumping all the fuel that was in the rail onto the engine/floor. (at least I'm doing this when the car hasn't been driven all day)

So I think ok I'll hold the #4 injector in place and try again. And Sure enough the #3 injector comes flying out and all the fuel sprayed all over me and the engine. I'm surprised just how much fuel the Fuel Pump shoots into the fuel rail. It seemed as if it was almost full... Needless to say I stopped after that and put it all back together.

Anyrate - I have no idea if the CAS is bad or not the injectors sounded like they were firing before I pulled them out of place but I maybe I'm hearing thing, but it kind of sounded like the #2 was firing all the time? which is why I pulled the fuel rail to see if I could check the injector. I'm tired maybe I'll pull the CAS tomarrow and just listen to the injectors firing again. When I have more energy.

Re: Nopi Nationals Sept 24-25 Moroso

And sorry Jet I did it before reading your post, and I have no idea where in the process I stopped the CAS, so at somepoint I'll have to go drive the car and see if anything changed it not I'll assume the CAS is 180degrees wrong and pull it and rotate it.

Re: Nopi Nationals Sept 24-25 Moroso

Well back at the car today. for like 5 minutes. found the oil leak. I have a Crack in my Valve Cover. What's weird is the crack is inward.

So now I need a new Polished/Shaved Valve Cover.

Also I turned the CAS 180 like jet said and although I was only able to do short pulls I noticed that my HP curve is now smooth and at the same rpm/lbs per min the HP shows an increase of 30hp over previous runs the last time at Moroso. Haven't checked the plugs, nor am I sure it's fixed but the graph's from 3k-6200rpms are a lot smoother.

Re: Nopi Nationals Sept 24-25 Moroso

Well No change in the spark plug from #2 cylinder. - but with the Cracked Valve Cover there might be oil getting into the cylinder, the plug is definetely wet but I can't tell if it's gas. doesn't smell like raw gas.

All the piston's look the same when you shine a light on them. I'm pretty sure I've officially tried everything. Hopefully with a new Valve Cover the problem will go away. it's the only thing I haven't fixed as far as I can tell.
