I thought for sure you were gonna have brakemans or one of the cheaper STM kits or TCE kits

Re: The car simply known as "The Talon"

Nah, I don't have an extra $1000 laying around right now. TCE will be what I go to if I change anything but I have always been impressed with the stock 2 piston calipers, even from 145 plus mph.

Im sure alot of members can vouch for the stopping power of the 2 pisiton stock calipers. You could always pull the shoot if you cant stop. Assuming your gonna need one.

Re: The car simply known as "The Talon"

Yeah but I just don't think I will have to, lots of time to slow down at the end of a run.

Depends on the track I guess.. If it was at our rock falls track then you would have zero time to stop/slow down.

Don't you need a 17 inch wheel for those?

I've stopped at rock falls on 2G brakes at 150+ and it wasn't too bad.

Re: The car simply known as "The Talon"

Yeah, the big brakes are really needed more for repeated stops. Plus, even with stock pads, they were meant to haul down 3500 lbs of 2G plumpness, and no quick 1G weighs anywhere near that much.

Oem mitsu rotors not cheap advance auto ones. Mach V has a killer deal on them right now and I am trying the axxis ultimate pads.

Wow, I didn't know they still made thos Axxis pads, I've been using them for 10 years with good results. I can't even remember the last time I changed them.

Yep. I used to have the metal masters and I liked them so these should do well.

For some reason TireRack has been the cheapest I've seen for RS3's of late.
