Re: My projects
Got the motor disassembled. Bearings were crap! Getting rid of the front balance shaft and grinding down the rear.
Head looked great

Yup.. MY garage
Brendan made fun of me that it won't run for another 3 months
I just ordered in some SS brake lines, prothane motor mounts, clear cam gear cover, ACL rod/ crank bearings and a fire-retardant jacket
Other then that, think I just need a few sensors (knock/ O2)
I'd really like to pick up the MOMO steering wheel, but omg, 200 + 75 for the hub adapter.. Trying to bring myself to spend that much

This thread wouldn't be 4 pages if you had a penis. Looks like fun though

Re: My projects
^ That turned out really well too.. It's def really hard to tell what it really looks like without seeing it in person
He did a black tint as a clear over aluminum (or maybe it was chrome)
But I would never get a maaco paint job. Trash!! I have a guy that does all my work.. just trying to get the engine in sort before spending money on the looks

Re: My projects
I love it when people call my paint job trash! They do a nice black cherry actually! Paint still looks good to this day. Just don't get their cheapest paint job.

Re: My projects
Doesn't look too bad. I had a laser painted there.. omg the overspray. It was awful! I don't think they even put a clear on it.
But I'm going to have my guy do a few extra things.. Got a few ideas for him to paint He painted the silver car, and wouldn't go to anyone else, esp for the price!

Re: My projects
I just had them do their 2nd to best paint job, and had them match the black cherry already on it.

I drove the car there in it's wonderful multicolor condition. In their parking lot, I removed the headlight lenses, tail lights, marker lights, and the center grill piece between the head light lenses (they sprayed that separately). That's it. I didn't prep anything. I paid for their prep job.

In the end, with them also filling in some minor dents, it cost around $900 I believe. It's not stock quality, but don't take that the wrong way, because it looks great. There were some small little bubbles, and a couple little drips, in inconspicuous areas. The car looks much better. I'd recommend it to anyone not wanting to spend more on their cars paint job, then they did on the car itself.
