Re: Tubular chassis builder

Same with my old 1g. Nevada / AZ car, and I kept it out of the snow. Best way to do it if you're looking to get and maintain clean shell in my opinion.

Re: Tubular chassis builder

To add yet another point, you'll have more problems with rusting with a caged/tube framed/tubed end car - reason being, the prep/paint/coatings for those things are rarely as good as a factory paint/prep job and most likely your tube components will start rusting very quickly, especially if they were rattle can painted.

most of the time isn't an issue because it is a garage kept racecar rarely driven in poor elements or winter. if you started doing that you would be constantly fighting rust.

Re: Tubular chassis builder

I would keep it out of the winter months if I knew that I had another beater AWD besides a truck. And for that I will continue my winter driving but I have a few anti-rust tricks tucked up my sleeve for when I move forward with chassis work.

I totally hear that, however I do have a friend who does incredibly cheap and great body work for me, especially paint and so I would have it stripped, primed, painted, and sealed for sure with any welds or work done.

Re: Tubular chassis builder

You could have the subframes powdercoated.
