Re: Sept 29th rock falls
It's no big deal. You can make pass after pass depending on how many people are there, you get lots of practice launching, but for our cars, it's more about going through the gears cleanly. I've got a stack of trophys from the fun days out there, it's a good time.

Re: Sept 29th rock falls
I did, well bad by what I was expecting but honestly not horrible for my first time ever with a car with way too much power for me on the track.
Best run, 2nd run ever, 1st run almost doesn't count as i had traction control on I couldn't didn't do shit. i did trap 124 on the first run though.

Re: Sept 29th rock falls
Not as easy as it looks is it?!
Oh well, just need some seat time. Those sixty foots need some improvement.
Would figure you'd trap higher though.

Re: Sept 29th rock falls
No it's not easy lol. I knew I wouldn't do great but man tough.
On my best run I bounced off the rev limiter in 4th. I need to shift to 5th.
Sadly I am stupid as I think I was letting off the gas too early, didn't notice til my 3rd run there was a light that lets you know you can stop....need a coach

Re: Sept 29th rock falls
You'll get better with more practice. This kind of stuff can show auto-x snobs that drag racing isn't as easy as it looks.

Re: Sept 29th rock falls
Well the good news is if you put down a normalish 1.7, 60 foot, you should crack high 10's.
Did you let off upstairs on the pictured 12.02 run? I figured it would trap about 128ish.
But you got out and it's still running!
Edit: I'd try about 18 PSI of tire pressure next time as well.

Re: Sept 29th rock falls
Was good to see you today! Nice job - first step is just trying it and you didn't break anything, so that's a win in my book.
Usually cutting .1 off your sixty foot will cut about .2 off your total time. If you can even get that to a 2.0 60', you're low 11s.

And yeah - running a 12.02 @ 122 with a 2.5 60'.. I'm betting you let off too early Dave. She has a lot more in there!

Re: Sept 29th rock falls
Cool video angle, gives you a chance to see what you're doing during a run.
Good runs, yeah, it takes a lot of practice. You learn something on almost every pass, but it's still tough to get a clean pass every time. Good runs for the first time out though, I probably have 200+ passes all in the low 12's trapping about 118-119. When I had more power and trapped 124-125mph, I ran an 11.9, once. FAIL!

Re: Sept 29th rock falls
^Not being shy, being drunk. Came home, cleaned up and partied all night till 4am.
I did a couple of 11.8@90, was an eventful day. Someone put the clamp on my heater core hose at the very end of the pipe and when I pulled in for tech the back of my motor was covered in coolant so I got to deal with that, then I discovered that I have way too high crankcase pressure so I didn't want to make a full pass and risk fucking the track up with oil.
I did finally get a new best 60' of 1.590, not amazing but i'll take it.
There is so much to learn in launching the car its mindblowing. Sorry I wasn't there to help you more murlo, next time for sure.

Re: Sept 29th rock falls
^Not sure, trying to figure out catch can stuff right now. If i could get a trailer I'd like to do some passes at CFR, but to be honest I don't know if I trust this car to drive that far.
I could stay home that weekend and do the fun day at RFR. But I have off work every track weekend apart from the 5-7 oct.
