classic example of the news fear mongering. The japanese are also pumping boric acid into the reactors to buffer the neutrons to help slow the reactions. I'm sure we will all be safe from the radioactive zombie apocalypse.

The zombie apocalypse was never an issue. Just showing an example of what you just said - fear mongering.

Um was that a realistic fear GH? Dumb to even compare that to how some websites are stating things are much worse than they are regarding nuclear. MELTDOWN IMMINENT, evacuate planet!

Its just ridiculous.

Re: Crazy tsunami damage from quake in japan

http://www.moellerinc.com/docstore/A...esentation.pdf

A good presentation in general. Towards the end it starts to speak about various dose levels. This presentation was given a few weeks ago to Minnesota representatives.

There's so much to say, but I'd rather not ramble. But look at some of those numbers in that presentation. A-Bomb survivors that received 10 Rem or less have shown no adverse affects. Plant workers are allowed 5 Rem / year limits by the NRC. The news reports are touting numbers like 150millirem detected just outside the plants building. Millirem, that's 1/1000 of a Rem... but 150 sure does sound like a lot to someone who doesn't have anythign to reference that against. And again as you'd see in this presentation, how big of an affect distance has. If they measure 150mrem just outside that plants building, how much that will have reduced just by being 50ft away.

It's too bad the media appears to be simply interested in getting peoples attention by invoking fear. And again while it is a serious issue, in my opinion it's not the armageddon they are making out to be.

Re: Crazy tsunami damage from quake in japan

Good video of how the plant works there and the options they are trying for cooling the reactor down.

http://www.cnn.com/video/#/video/wor...ner.nhk?hpt=C2

Still sounds like its possible the containment of the reactor is now cracked and leaking because of another explosion that happened.

Also heres is how the quake changed the earth, crazy! http://news.yahoo.com/s/yblog_theloo...-of-the-planet
