That'll do man, nice power for only 20psi! You're using dsmlink, right? Time for alky injection and more boost, that turbo should really come alive! Very nice power curve, very linear all the way up. The cams and intake mani are a good combo!

Now, leave it be, roll with it, drive it, enjoy it!

Re: The Black Beast

Thats the plan Scheides. I'll roll it like this for the summer, then probably this fall it'll get alky injection.

Re: The Black Beast

This isn't meant to be a thread jack, I just have a serious question.

I noticed on your map Kevin it stops at about 7k, mine goes past 7400 RPMS...

Is that what Shane reved it to, or is did he just rev it to 7k and that is him letting off the gas and the power starting to drop?

Edit - The fist pic was horrible, hopefully this one was a little better, probably not just a camera phone...

Re: The Black Beast

We decided to cut it off there because I'm still using stock springs and retainers, and also the power had started to peak over, so we didn't see a point in revving it out any farther.

Re: The Black Beast

Yea, sorry I wasn't more clear with my post. I was wondering if Shane Revved mine past 7k or not or if he just had the map set up for 7900 rpm...

I had told him there was some minor head work, but I didn't tell him the extent to it though or to rev past 7k... Not that it matters because it can handle 8k.

PS. That is some good DD power, should be fun.

EDIT - Wow I truely am an idiot... the boost stops at 7750 rpm, that answers my question.

Great numbers man! But I know there's gotta be a part of you that just wishes you could have gotten another .8hp out of that!

Re: The Black Beast

Yeah, when I saw that 299.2 the only thing I could think was "Oh man, it's so close!" And as for the boost control, I'm just using the Tial 38. No mbc or anything. Gotta love consistancy

Re: The Black Beast

Yea shane had told me mine held boost really well, but mine spikes a lb twice right after hitting full boost, you are just steady right until redline. Also your power curve is really smooth.

I need a SMIM...

Re: The Black Beast

So I finally got around to repainting the roof. I also painted the upper portion of the driver side door because the paint was starting to crack a little from sun fade, and the lower portion of the left quarter panel because there was a little bit of rust starting to bubble up. Also, I tinted the tail lights. I forgot to bring my camera so I didn't get any pics of the progress, so all I have is the finished product. These pics kinda suck because the car is still really dirty (I didn't wanna wash it right away due to fresh paint), it still needs to be sanded and I still gotta buff the whole car. Big thanks to Mark for helping out!

And here's the most recent dyno sheet. (from the spring dyno day)
