Re: 99 GSX vs 96/97 3000GT VR4
Looks like you are leaning toward a 3s. I would start out looking for a 3s but keep the 2g not far behind just in case you can't find one you like. Just remember don't rush into this. Summer is still a long way to go. How does the rusting hold up on a 2g 99 compare to 3s?

Re: 99 GSX vs 96/97 3000GT VR4
He's gonna call me back tomorrow after thinking it over. But it's got all the work done to it already, just needs a few minor things, and a good tune. Jana can do the show thing as well as the go thing. Why work to 12s, when you can buy into the 11s LOL

I can't remember, what year is the car? Did he ever put a FMIC & upgraded fuel system on it?

I'm pretty sure it's a 95 RT/TT but I may be wrong.
I need to verify what it all has on it again. I'm trying to find a old pic of it. Jakey, you have any?

Re: 99 GSX vs 96/97 3000GT VR4
I would get a black 95 3000. if I was in the market for a new car. It's got the frog eyes and it's not 60,000 dollars.

That's sounds like the way to go! As long as it's not blue. If it's blue, I might kill you.

Re: 99 GSX vs 96/97 3000GT VR4
It's the only way we wouldn't get a 96/97 VR4. I know the car, I know the owner, and I know and trust everyone who's worked on it.

Re: 99 GSX vs 96/97 3000GT VR4
He was going to call me back with what he wants for it.
It's got upgraded turbos (some DR turbos about the size of a 14b or just a bit smaller), full exhaust, k&n, wires, very slick custom stereo w/ dvd player & tv, and I'm not sure what else he had done.

From what I can recall on top of what you've mentioned:
Panasonic indash DVD player
MA Audio sub
Greddy EGT Gauge
Autometer Boost Guage
Aftermarket wheels

And LSE has some extras from the old motor to bling bling that I had at QPR for a while.

Re: 99 GSX vs 96/97 3000GT VR4
The biggest problem will be getting a loan for the car being it's over 10 years old, so I don't even know if it's possible yet.

Try Capital One
http://www.capitalone.com/
I used them when I bought my Stealth.
