Re: The Gun Thread

Now I just finished my new pmag modifications...

If I don't do this the mag release gets pushed up some and hits the bolt catch and possibly the bolt and causes wear. So I dremeled both my new ones out tonight and now they are golden.

Re: The Gun Thread

They might try to do a 50 percent tax on ammo. Gun control aint going to stop people from killing other people. Take all the guns away and that wont stop anything. Going to get my paper work today so I can buy a couple hand guns. Would like to buy a ar15 but iam sure they are all gone.

Re: The Gun Thread

Lots of AR's out there still. I can't find the Ruger SR9c in stock anywhere so I can check it out. I am on a couple of waiting lists now. I went to Bill's Tuesday night after work and it was insane in there. Had to be 20 people looking at guns and 2 sales people. I left after I got on the waiting list and went to Fleet Farm up the road and got put on their list too

For the permit it has an area for the gun dealer, do you have to fill that out or is that only if the gun dealer is filling out the paperwork for you? I don't want to be limited to one gun shop.

Probably just target and shooting varmints in rural SW Iowa. Only a few counties in southernmost Iowa have a rifle season for deer.

.223, but you can also consider 9mm if you want to get away from the standard AR platform. I've been looking at carbines as well, and the upside to 9mm is even less of a cost.

I think you want the AR chambered for 556 if I recall (think that's right) as you can shoot 223 ammo, and it's better for the gun if it's basis is a 556. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. Either way, you can also convert an AR to a .22 platform for practice with the weapon and even further savings on ammo.

Yep, pretty much the reason I chose it. I love the look of the wood laminate stocks over synthetic, plus the thumbhole stock, and the adjustable cheek riser and butt plate made it an easy decision. I know you can get these aftermarket, it was just nice that it came this way from CZ.

Correct. If it's chambered for 5.56 NATO then you can also shoot .223, but not really recommended the other way around.

Re: The Gun Thread

.223 is a lot cheaper to shoot and can be accurate to over 300 yards easy. I'd probably go with that if you don't need something with long range.

Re: The Gun Thread

Yep, .223 for sure. They are accurate WAY past 300 yards if you get a decent one. Hell, I was shooting 6" groups on iron sights at 300 yards in the military.

Re: The Gun Thread

If any of you guys aren't members of the NRA, now is the time. I think it's something like $35 for a year.

But donating to the NRA-ILA is where it really counts. They're the division that actually engages the legislative process. Even if it's only $5, if you want to keep your rights and keep your guns, do it.

This is a rather heavy video for Style but it's relavent and bears a lot of truth. Some of you may recognize Travis Haley. He is a reserve LEO and former Force Recon Marine.

Please go to Ruger's website and help support gun rights!
Follow the link below and fill in your information. This will generate a letter to every relevant political office for your address! Ruger has stated they are not collecting this data, nor are they keeping it for any reason other than this purpose. Please share this with as many gun owners as you can.
