I'm sure that he will be and I think he is really looking forward to the project of getting it going. It went to a good home...

Gratz Andy!! Post up some pic's! I am guessing you have something similar to mine, but we haven't talked turbos in a while. Maybe I'll bring mine over to AJ's tonight.

I just got it off the trailer and in my shed a couple of hours ago :bounce:
i hope he didn't sell me a lemon
i can't wait to get it running but i have to find all them darn parts that Nash left out that weren't listed in the ad :headache: i hope you can find some of them.
O well its all good as long as the lower end and tranny are in good shape and with 29k i hope they are.
I should just go and buy a wrecked 2g parts car.

What wasn't listed? Seriously if you need anything PM Jakey. He seems to find fucking everything. The car could have been missing a tranny, and some other shit and you definatly got a deal. I hope you enjoy the car. a 99 with only 29k on it is hard to come buy these days. And only having to really worrry about getting a head done with maybe a few other minor things isn't too bad for picking up a non running car. When you get it going I wouldn't mind making a trip to see it necxt time im in IA. I go to Decorah quite a bit.

well nothing to major is gone but a just a bunch of little stuff that is making my head throb thinking about were i'm going to get all this stuff. I sent Nash e-mail asking if he had some stuff still around, I'm hoping he does cause he said he would ship me any missing parts. It was cold out and he had the stuff packed in boxs and i really didn't want to go take everything out make sure it was there then. He had the head packed away nice in the box and i didn't really want to rip all the stuff out there but i should have. once i got home and got it out of the box it looked like the valves were fine, no signs of being bent just looked like they had high miles on them and the complete rocker assembely wasn't there along with the cam gears. I don't know whats the story behind this or what i'm going to do about that.
then a bunch of small stuff i found just by looking around that wasn't there.
TPS on the throttle body
BISS screw
throttle body elbow
the complete ignition system
the sensor that goes right on top center of the intake mani, i don't know what its called looks like a pressure sensor
the main part of the thermostat
lots of nuts and bolts
main motor mount on drivers side, i must have missed that when i checked out the engine bay and when i got hope the frount engine mount bolt broke cause of all the pressure and the tranny a and AC comperssor is holding it up against the frame.
and a few more small things that i knew at purchase time that weren't in the ad that i have to track down
like the lower crank pulley and timing belt covers he didn't hae
fog lights
i didn't get a 2g valve cover
most of them parts arn't that big but once you add them all up its making my head ache on were i'm going find all them small things like the bolt that hold the intake mani to the throttle body.
like i said i'm about ready to go buy a darn parts car. i really hope nash has like another box around with parts in it. seriously I'd rather have be missing the trans them all them little things.
if it wouldn't have been for the 29k i never would have baught this car.

also measured the intake mani ports and the head ports and the head ports are slighty bigger. alittle less than like a 1/4 inch at first then they tapper down pretty fast to mabey slighty less than 1/8 of an inch.
the are the exact same lenght just the head is slightly bigger. do you think i have a 1g head? what other ways are there to tell?

Matt I'm glad to see that you got the car home. Like DSMStyle said, if you put together a list of parts you absolutely can not find I'll see what I can find around the net for sale. I know that there is a '95 Talon being parted out somewhere in Illinois.
I've also got a 1G intake manifold sitting in my dorm room in Ames if you would be interested in that to go with your head.

yea it did have a 1g ported head on it but when Nash baught his 1g talon he put that head on his talon. So i got some other disasembled head.
By the time i get the lifters and rockers for it i don't think its ever worth putting together cause the rest of the head don't seem to be all that great. So I'm going to try to find a rebuild 2g head.
I wouldn't mind buying a cheap parts car but the only thing bad about that is i baught the car cause it had 29k, what good is 29k if i have to put a bunch of parts from car with 129k on it.
I wanted him to gather up all the parts and make sure he had everything there before i transfered the $$$. I started to look through the one but my dad wanted to just hurry up get the money takin care of, and it was frezzing out so i'm like screw it he says they are all there. That was a mistake :headache:

You really ought to work if out with him before making such posts on a public forum. It sounds to me like you got a damn good deal. You knew the car was in pieces and that some parts were missing.
Please quit yer bitchin.

There is really no need to post this stuff up. I told you to email me with the stuff that was missing, and I would see what I could. I know there is alot work that will need to be done to get the car running, but I told you that before you bought it.

sorry, like i said there is nothing major wronge just a bunch of little things and i guess i'm just a bit furstrated with some other stuff, non car related. I understand, i'm not bashing nash or mean to if i did, i don't even rember what i typed. having more than 1 dsm and having them parts sit for almost a year some are going to get miss placed. I guess i was just frustrated and overwellemed at all the parts i'm going to have to find and just kinda vented it out on the board
I'm sure he will try to find what he can for me.
But thats why i got it so cheap i guess.

YOu have less than what you think to get the car running. And remember good parts are good parts. If you put a bad head on that car with 29k on the motor your asking for trouble, but if you get a good head and everything is done right the head could have 200k on it and last you another 150k miles. You got a steal on that deal. And I think you know that or you wouldn't have bought it. Just keep us posted cause when your done with it your gonna really be happy!

Matt, understand that you got an awesome deal, and you really don't have THAT much work ahead of you before it's running again.
To put it in perspective I bought a '93 Talon AWD rolling chassis with a bad tranny, 3 spun bearings; missing the front brakes, the rearend and a LOT in between. I was handed two boxes with the car; Eagle rods and Ross pistons. I would have never written that check if I didn't know what I was getting into. I will have had this car a year in April. Unfortunate circumstances have held me back from getting it done sooner, but it's going along now. You came out way ahead on your deal than I did, and I never once complained about what I was given or what I didn't get. Take what you have, and smile... I know I would.

On a note to try and be helpful to you, we have a lot of the parts you are looking for at the shop. The list includes:
crank pulley/dampner
lower timing cover
the sensor on the intake,
coilpack etc
complete 2G head with cams, & valvetrain
There are probably other parts as well that I just don't remember. If you are interested in this stuff, I will make you are very reasonable deal on it to help you complete the car. Just PM me if you are interested. The head is in good usable condition BTW.

If you're unhappy with the car, I'd be interested in it. I didn't know it was going to be a "good deal".

Matt read the PM I sent you.
Matt D. has a very valid point also, be happy with what you have acquired. Early next summer when I purchase my '92 TSi "project," I am going to be undertaking a huge project as the car basically needs a complete restoration from what I've found out. That does not bother me at all. I am aware that the car is missing parts and is probably missing more parts than is known but that is perfectly find to me. I'm will be killer deal on the car so I will have any grounds to complain on. I really do hope you see what a great deal that you got on your new GST.
As always you have to remember you have the crew at dsmstyle.com to help you along with 3 superb shops readily active here.
and last but not least, SMILE!!
