Re: What would you do??

I actually test drove an '04 SRT-4 Today. I think the LSD they now have seems to help out with the traction issue. They sound pretty nice, pretty plain interior though.

Overall I'd say it's a pretty decent car.

But the Evo test drive blew it out of the water so....To each their own.

Re: What would you do??

I raced the 04 model also. It didn't seem to have much problem at all hooking from a 35 roll. I didn't even hear him spin a tire. LSD helps a lot. I know a 16g on a 2g fwd can spin the tires when starting at a 45-50 roll.

Re: What would you do??

I like the SRT-4, rumor I hear is that there will be a special edition in mid '05 that will have some extra features. I would look around on the various Neon/SRT forums and do some research. If I could swing the payment I would be all over one.

Re: What would you do??

I went from an AWD to a FWD car and I really dont have an issue with it. Granted, I am making no power so cutting the front tires loose is really not an issue. But, handling is FAR superior to my 1g AWD. Its give and take, I was just growing tired of constant repairs and boring looks. I sacrificed a LOT of straight line speed for what I have, but overall I am happy.

Re: What would you do??

thanks for all the opinions, I'm still really undecided on what to do. If I can get 4300 for it I will sell it. I test drove an Srt-4 when they first came out, was quite impressed with it. I thought the seats hugged you really well, some people say they don't like the seats. My car is pretty clean for how old it is, but I would like the fact of having just 1 car thats new and semi-fast.

Neon SRT-4s are pretty fast but I know know how reilable they are. I have always hated neons so I would deffinatly keep the DSM. your gonna miss it you know it.

Reliability? Who cares! It comes with a nice warranty (not to mention its better than a DSM anyway).

Re: What would you do??

I love my SRT. Want traction, better tires, motor mounts and most importantly Lower Control arm bushings.
The block is stout, DCX OVER designed this car. I wouldnt worry about reliablity.

As far as depreciation, yes you can find some cheap one, alot of kids bought these cars and cant afford them, so they need to unload them. A used one can be had for cheap. But then again.. kids like to beat on there cars, so take that into consideration.

Want to buy mine?

Re: What would you do??

Yeah it seems like everytime I see one for sale, they can't afford the payments or insurance, jumping into things a little early. I know I'll miss my dsm if I sell it, I built it from the ground up, so it'll be even harder to let go...but I do think its time to move on.
