Re: You just built a nice new house....
Hmm, let's see.
I really want a house on about 10 acres so I don't have any fucking neighbors to piss me off with their loud music. Then, I'd like to have a hot tub outside in a little "house" type thing (privately enclosed somehow). I'd like to have a 4 car garage at least. Then just a really nice layout inside that is functional. In the basement I'd like to have a nice entertainment room with a pool table and bar with 1919 Root Beer & Honey Weiss on tap. Downstairs I'd also like to have my own home theatre.
I guess I haven't thought too much about specifics, but those just popped into my head.

Re: You just built a nice new house....
Definitely a theatre with seating for at least 15 people. Besides that, my house must have heated floors. I helped build a log house back home that has heated floors in both the basement and the main level and after being around them, I consider them to be a necessity.

Re: You just built a nice new house....
I already have the bar with a fridge in the basement so I think an arcade room would be nice. Get some cool 2-4 player games like TimeCrisis, Daytona USA, MortalKombat2, and that old T2 Terminator game.
An indoor shooting range would be nice though

Re: You just built a nice new house....
The house can be big or small, I don't care. Just as long as I can have at LEAST 15 kegs on tap 24/7, I'm golden.

Re: You just built a nice new house....
Sounds like you all want to have the party house (with your 15 seat theaters). I would hate to have to provide all the entertainment for everyone. If you have the theater, you have to get the movies, have the beverages, etc. Sounds like a money pit to me. I would rather have a friend with the theater
If I were to have one thing, it would be a big screen tv. I would like to have a bowling alley or something but I do not want something that requires constant maintenence ($$$) to be thrown at it (cough_dsm_cough). My values are changing to be more practical.

Re: You just built a nice new house....
Oh wow. I wouldn't even know where to start.
A properly isolated Project studio is the first thing. An entertainment area w/comfortable seating, projector, 5.1 blah, blah. The kitchen would also be a main area of focus. I'd get one of those huge stainless steel cooking ranges, the works. Living in the country is cool but I rather take the entire top floor of some sky scrapper downtown. Even since I was young and watched Doogie Howser I wanted to live in a loft. Now you can't go anywhere downtown and run into a sign for a new building being converted into lofts and the smallest crappiest rooms start around 190K

Do you mind if I come over some time? I could bring a few (13) friends too, if that's ok.
