Re: Collector Plates

I've been pulled over at least four times in the dsm and once in another car for no front plate(in various cities and never doing anything wrong). Received tickets a couple times but got them dropped by showing up to prove I've added a front plate to the car. It's a pain in the a$$.

Before i left for california, i got two tickets for no front plate IN ONE DAY. And had 4 other tickets for no front plate. I fought every single one of them and got them dismissed on the grounds that i showed them an invoice that i had ordered a new bracket for it. After the two in one day i threw the front plate in the windshield and never got hassled again. (the invoice was a fake heheh. )

Re: Collector Plates

The rule is 20 model years, so I might be able to do this in the 92 SC300 too...

According to this you do not need a front plate if you have a collector plated car.
Sweet, they finally changed the law!

Re: Collector Plates

The first thing I did after I got home from registering my '87 Conquest as a collector car was to remove the front plate & bracket. Now I'm just trying to buff out all the damage in the bumper cover without harming the paint... :P

Re: Collector Plates

Ha, I haven't had a plate on my car since 1999, never gotten a ticket. But I might jump on the collector plate as well, sure can't hurt for insurance.
