Jeep with the 4.0 wouldn't be bad, but you'll be +2 on cylinder count over your goal.

Ask people who own one to take it for a test drive, friends, relatives, members of the forums. Random people you have never seen in your life and hope for the best.

Re: 4 cyl. Pickups, whats reliable?

im a jeep guy as well as a dsm guy. ive had a cherokee with the 4.0 and that was an amazing vehicle. engine never dies. now i own a jeep liberty with the 3.7 with some mods. if you put some miles in a liberty you will love it, and you can get them for 5k. in mexico the liberty is still called the cherokee, in usa the name liberty kinda hurt the "cherokee" sales

I know the 4.0 is invincible if i find a nice comanche that is 4x4, then its on, but guys I really don't tow or haul that much stuff. Its just nice to go help people easier or pick up a set of wheels, a transmission that kinda random stuff.
