John Gosh? He manages the Carquest in Ramsey, I think a guy from NAPA "bought" his shop, but as far as I've heard John is up in Ramsey now.

Re: any shops in minnesota?
yes exactly. when i had my machine work done by him thats where he was, at that carquest. He said he was working there inbetween closing up his old shop and opening up the new one in forest lake.
even so, he lets the carquest use his torque plates for the 4g63s and whatnot.

Like Allan said I think we both have a lot on our plates right now, threads like this are simply trying to improve the community as a whole and help people out...

Cool.
Forest Lake is a bit of a hike for me now. I use to use him for all my headwork but now have found other sources.

Yeah thats typical price for bore and hone w/o torque plate. Its getting into the balancing, line honing, squaring the block, etc that gets spendy.

I 3rd John Gosh. He did awesome work on my cylinder head, and lots of my friends have gotten head work done by him on many different platforms (7mgte, sr20, 4g63)

Re: any shops in minnesota?
eclipse_spyder - at a machine shop here in saint cloud, PM me for the hookup, I might be able to get it a little cheaper.
niterydr - knowing your Sh*t FTW!!! I am sure you do quality work.
On my budget rebuild priceout is looking like this: $80 bore, $200 oil+water pumps, $315 for rebuild kit through AutoValue *shudder* (I hope I dont get crankwalk on my 1990 block, dont laugh, with my luck....)
$600 budget rebuild is not that bad. (so long as it lasts)
