Re: NEED TO BUY: 2g trany or total 6 bolt STALK swap
yea, well I doubt I'd be able to sell it to anyone, since we all know dsm'ers are cheap-asses (myself included) so I wanna see it go to a good home and someone who will get use outta it. She's more of an autocrosser, so for what it's built like that'd be perfect.

Re: NEED TO BUY: 2g trany or total 6 bolt STALK swap
I think all I am going to do is swap my tranny now so that I can drive it. Then later this winter or something if Anthony gets a new motor I will take his or just get one from someone else. I just need my car. I am not at home with my parents any more so I cant just use theres, and it drives me nuts not being able to drive my baby. So I will just fix the tranny, pay that off, and move on to other things with the car.

What do you mean swap it? With what? Are you buying a different tranny or having it rebuilt?

Well I need to get a 7 bolt tranny right now so my car can run, and then I will take his 6 bolt motor and put it in my car down the road. There are some extra wiring things that need to be done but it does bolt up to a 7 bolt tranny, just a few extra things needs to happen.

6 bolt or 7 bolt has nothing to do with the transmission. I swapped in a 6 bolt on my 2g and I used my original transmission, there was nothing special to do. Whatever motor you put in, 1g or 2g, you're still going to use the same 2g transmission.
Good luck finding one, have you tried the link forums? Make sure if you buy used that you get a 97-99 awd transmission, the gearing is different than 95-96. Otherwise you'll have to get a matching transfer case too.

Re: NEED TO BUY: 2g trany or total 6 bolt STALK swap
Yea it's from a 95 but includes the transfer case so you'd be alright.

EDIT: That's the one 95talonracer was selling earlier in this thread. Since you don't have any need for a 1g tranny even with a 6 bolt swap this would be your best bet.

Re: NEED TO BUY: 2g trany or total 6 bolt STALK swap
So do you mean you just got the one from his that he was maybe going to sell me and now your selling it?
I would do that, but for the price I mine as well just get a shep stock rebuild, ya know? Then I dont need to mess with the t-case and stuff. Thanks, but I would need to get a really good price to take it off your hands otherwise I think I may just end up sending mine out since I cant find one around here really.

Re: NEED TO BUY: 2g trany or total 6 bolt STALK swap
No, I posted a link to his ad, it's not mine. Contact 95talonracer about a price, I'm sure you can work something out since 900 seems a bit high unless it was recently rebuilt or something.

Re: NEED TO BUY: 2g trany or total 6 bolt STALK swap
yeah i was thinking more like 450 or 500 for it. I am looking into just the bell housing for mine now since I just need it done and I did not know that yeah a stock rebuilt tranny from shep is $900 but that is assuming nothing is wrong with the tranny you send in, and since he needs to replace the bell housing it would be much more than that.
