Re: 2G auto S/A daily
Two bottles should be plenty. I would start by pulling the thermostat out to make sure that isn't a problem. It sounds like you have a major issue if it is getting that hot. That was with 1 fan working, right? If you had no fans, then I wouldn't get too worried about it.

Re: 2G auto S/A daily
I have an aluminum radiator and nice slim fans. I don't think that's the issue.
That would also cut into my t3 budget.
Yeah ill have to see what's up as far as help I'm sitting at 811 for miles right now and still have to run to 694 and rice so ill change the oil and check the thermostat tonight.

Re: 2G auto S/A daily
I work until 1030pm tomorrow.
But I wouldn't worry about T3 if the car is running too hot, also not all AL radiators are created equal that goes for fans too.
I'm down to go to the track too. Want to see some deep 11s-10s with that thing.

Re: 2G auto S/A daily
I bought a 180 stat so gonna throw that in while I drop the oil today. Should be at 900 miles when I get home today. And really has no major iissues/leaks since 100 miles.

Re: 2G auto S/A daily
I have never had issues with mine running hot... ESPECIALLY with E85! Usually I have a hard time getting mine to warm up fully without beating on it in anything less than 80* weather.
I would definitely start with the thermostat. Something definitely doesnt seem right. Last year when we had a bunch of 100°+ days my car would barely make it to 200°. I have a 180° super stat in it and run 60/40 - coolant/water.
If you go Sat, shoot me a text and maybe I'll fly up on the bike if its nice.

Re: 2G auto S/A daily
From what I've read 2g run alot hotter the 1gs due to the coolant running the opposite way or the location of the temp sensor. I freaked out the first time mine went over 200 but after researching I found its not that abnormal. I also have the ac condenser in still and a restrictive fmic. Sounds like it's in the right range for a stock thermostat. Hopefully the cooler one works out.

Re: 2G auto S/A daily
I was constantly fighting to get my 1G to stay cool. A different (less dense) FMIC ended up helping a lot, but still was always a struggle. Lower temp thermostat, higher pressure rad cap, water wetter, fans always on, ducting, and the ETS FMIC (replacing a dense garrett core) I was finally able to get the car to stay more normal. Forget turning on the A/C though. That was probably one of my biggest complaints/annoyances with my 1G, just not overheating.

So far it hasn't gone past 210 so I think it's good now. Time will only tell though.

Re: 2G auto S/A daily
New thermo tested before I put it in and worked fine. Car got up over 225 and tripped the light.
All this was done around after 9 so air temps should of been fine.
I have no mixing of coolant and oil in either so not sure what to think yet.
What's the best way to get bubbles out? I'm not sure I got them all out but that's really the last thing I can think of.
Also for a sidenote. On my car it goes intercooler, fans pushing them radiator. Should I put the fans on the inside of the engine bay?

Re: 2G auto S/A daily
best way i found is leave cap off and squeeze the lower rad hose. start car and leave the cap off turn the heater on full blast. when its fully warmed up replace the cap before turning the car off.
Inside engine bay seems better to me. pull cool air in to the bay and hot out. plus it should help cool that manifold.
Do you have the fans wired for lo and hi together?
