I'll be on snows, too. It is what it is, but at the end of the day we're not going hard enough to make a difference and the temps are still inside that gray area for transitioning. Plus, the snows will be a lot more forgiving as far as sand and water are concerned, and I'd assume we'll encounter quite a bit of both.

Re: MitsuStyle Spring 2013 cruise - April 20 & 21 - New Ulm, MN
Ha, I just got my body panels redone on the bike, If I dumped it, i'd be pissed. I'm not saying no cause it's cold, if the roads were free of sand and it was 45 i'd go. But with the roads being salted and sanded 1 week before the cruise i'd be too nervous getting in to it and wouldn't have any fun.
As for bringing my crown vic, that'd be like $60 in gas and be boring as shit.

Looks like I'm gonna be in the IS again.. Another year too shitty to take the bike... One of these cruises I'll actually be able to ride it I hope.

I think we are going to see a lot of people bail on this one unfortunatly. I hate to say it but I may be one of them because the weather is so fucked up this year. I'll see what it looks like when we get closer. Yes, the party a the hotel would be fun, but driving that far to booze it up makes it less so. The drive is 75% of the fun for me.

I don't have winter tires. If there is snow I am not bringing the evo.
I'll bring the DD though if I must.

Good for you! I am not risking my 60k investment on a cruise to the middle of nowhere while its snowing. You can't even drive fast enough to have fun if its snowing.
Sorry, i drove in the snow this week and a few weeks ago, it sucks, my car slides everywhere.
By all means, drive your car. Whether I drive my kizashi or my evo, if its snowing I will be going the same speed.

Its not going to be snowing, if anything a few flurries and some rain. Are you going to drive like that big of an asshat to get yourself/car in trouble? I doubt anyone else would either. I'm not trying to be a dick here but I've got 45K into mine and don't here me whining about a little snow/rain. Is it ideal? Obviously not.
Edit: Understandable if its flat out snowing but if not?......

Re: MitsuStyle Spring 2013 cruise - April 20 & 21 - New Ulm, MN
I went all winter with crappy "high performance" all season tires on the IS. I never ended up in the ditch, or sliding out of control. And most of the time I was going faster than the flow of traffic. A little rain and maybe some sand shouldn't be cause for people to not come with.

I was wondering if anybody here going on the cruise has bought one of these, http://www.evoscan.com/evoscan-gps-o...id7--evoscan-7 .
I purchased one but I dont think I will get it before the cruise and was wondering if anybody had one so I could check it out!

Re: MitsuStyle Spring 2013 cruise - April 20 & 21 - New Ulm, MN
I'm not going to go if the roads aren't dry. My car is too dangerous to rip on if roads are wet or slippery.
I'll end up going north and ripping up fire/forest service roads with my truck instead if the weather ends up crappy those two days.

Just drive down the freeway like we are if you are worried about the weather.

Re: MitsuStyle Spring 2013 cruise - April 20 & 21 - New Ulm, MN
^That is my plan. I still fully intend to go
I will just start the party early at New Ulm if needed. I have a hotel room and a brewery tour to attend!
I guess I didn't mean to sound like I was bailing.
I do however expect half of the signed up attendance if its shitty weather.

I think we need to go back to the old "bail and get a month ban" policy.

Re: MitsuStyle Spring 2013 cruise - April 20 & 21 - New Ulm, MN
Not going to be snowing? Are you a weatherman? Yes, you know so much.
Me drive like an asshat? Have you ever been on a real cruise with this group doosh? They do not drive slow at all, in fact they drive pretty much on the dangerous side. Regardless of what they say on here, driving 100+ through twisties is dangerous. I have been on these and they are not exactly boring or normal driving. Congrats, but you don't have 45k into yours, I am not talking with my car purchase, and guess what, if I wreck mine trying to keep up with a group of mitsu peeps, I get maybe half of my cars worth.
No thanks, I will drive the daily and just have fun in New Ulm.
Seriously, you people saying we are "whining" have clearly never been on a real cruise because its not safe what so ever in non dry conditions. I don't care what the fuck you say.
