Re: My Winter Upgrades
Well the roads around here are pretty clear so I decided to drive the car 1 block to the gas station for a car wash. These tires are definately not for snow! But she made it without incident. But it looks like the real nice wrap job I did might not be as nice anymore. Looks like in 2 spots the wrap is starting to fray .

The RPM gauge, as you call it, is driven off of the PTU for the coils. The rest of us call it a Tachometer or Tach for short.
Nice work on getting it running so far in advance of the fun season. I was being lazy about my car until the AutoX schedule was posted and I realized I didn't have *that* much time on my hands.

Re: My Winter Upgrades
Yeah Yeah, You know what I meant.
I still have a couple minor things to take care of yet though.
-Replace that transfer fill plug
-Fix rear camber kit
-Replace 1 wheel stud
-Fix one exhaust weld
Then hopefully in February or March, bring it to the Dyno to get it tuned and ready for the season. Just not sure which Dyno I will be going to since the one I've always gone to is no longer around

And I beg to differ, the fun season never ends, it just gets cold and then hot again
Brandon, DB's dyno read within 1whp of LSE's on my 2G. Go for it

Re: My Winter Upgrades
Have a couple things left on my To-Do list. Since I bought my DME rear camber kit 4 years ago, it's never worked well. Apparently they changed the install procedures because they realised the eccentric was too tight in the bushings. Anyhow, got the arms pulled and modified the camber kit per their new instructions, and reinstallled them. Hopefully it'll work a little better now.
Now all I have to do is wire in the Clutch Wire for NLTS, replace a bad wheel stud, clean up my vacuum hoses and clean up the interior, and get 1 thing done to the exhaust, and she's ready to rock.

Re: My Winter Upgrades
Made a new bracket to mount my coil pack to. I'll put up a picture once I can snap a picture of it. Pretty simple, but should work, so I'm happy.
Cleaned up some of the hosing, but will have to finish tomorrow when I can get over to Napa and get some more HOES

Re: My Winter Upgrades
Did a boost leak test, and as always, it leaked from the BOV flange. I sent the BOV back to Forge and they are putting a coupler style flange on it (like a 2g) so I can just couple/clamp it and never worry about a leak there again.
Also, here's a picture of my coil mount I made using some scrap aluminum I had laying around the garage. Just need to powder coat it black to make it less noticable. Anyhow, can't beat free

Re: My Winter Upgrades
Let me know if you need some parts powdercoated. I will be having a bunch of random parts done soon and can throw in what you want done as well.

Re: My Winter Upgrades
I haven't heard of any spring dyno day yet. But if I'm in town, I'll be there. I am however going to get dyno tuned as early in the spring as I can.

Re: My Winter Upgrades
Just got an email back from Forge and they are mailing my BOV back to me today, and aren't charging me a dime for the work they did. Great guys that really seem to stand behind their product. They've also sent me free replacement springs in the past for my MBC when I lost them.
I'm also now contemplating switching out my 2G MAS for an EVO MAS since I hear they are capable of metering a slightly higher amount of air than a 2G one.. Only thing holding me back right now is the fact that people seem to suck in the honeycombs on them from time to time when flowing larger amounts of air.

Re: My Winter Upgrades
Thanks for the link Scheides. Shane was able to find me one and a plug, so I will be doing that adhesive "mod" to it as soon as I get it, and will be running the EVO MAS this year.
Also, just got my BOV back from Forge. Again, they didn't charge me a dime. And looking at what I just got in the mail, it doesn't look like the put a new flange on my 3 year old valve. It looks like they sent me a brand new friggin valve, for free!!! Definately would buy from these guys again!!!

Re: My Winter Upgrades
Yup, turns out Forge just sent me a brand new valve, for free. Awesome.
Couple Updates. Drove it to Maple Grove and back yesterday since the roads were dry and clear. Kept it under 4k RPM's, just took it easy on it in general. Rode and drove great, just need to get the thing aligned.
Decided I no longer want my gauges mounted on the A-Pillar. It was a good spot for them, but the A-Pillar liked to fall down for the past coupler years, like it was just too much weight for it. So I took my gauges off and ordered up some cups so I can mount them elsewhere.
I do have one exhaust leak, but overall I still want to try and quiet down the exhaust a big more. Currently It's a full 3" Turbo Back utilizing all V-Band connections, with a Hooker straight through oval muffler, and a 3" Vibrant Resonator. In the quest to keep it quieter, I ordered up a new standard SS Magnaflow straight through oval muffler (no bling finish, just standard finish) that will be replacing the hooker. I've been happy with the hooker, but it's the only NON-SS thing on the exhaust, and I want it to be entirely SS. Thermal makes my favorite sounding muffler, but everything I could find from them was a bling finish that I don't want, so Magnaflow it is. Also ordered a SS PYPES brand straight through bullet muffler that I'll be welding in right behind the resonator (as long as ground clearance is still somewhat decent). So hopefully 1 resonator, 1 bullet muffler, and 1 Magnaflow oval muffler will be enough to quiet it down some. If not, I may try replacing the PYPES bullet with a Magnaflow bullet in the future, but it was only $49 so hell I figured it was worth a shot.

You will be very happy with that magnaflow. They quiet things down well.
