Re: Big Brown's Automagic - The last episode in my DSM story.
I doubt you guys will need 4th. At 7200 rpm that's 132. If you guys do bump the limiter, I'd raise it to 7500 before shifting even on an auto.

True but idk if 7200 is realistic power wise yes. May have to shift way earlier. It feels good, just do not have the passes/numbers to prove its good.

Re: Big Brown's Automagic - The last episode in my DSM story.
Lets not turn this thread into BS speculation,
the car will trap over 100 and that means I will need to use 4th. End clutches will be ordered this winter unless I 1. drive the car enough in the next 2 months or 2. know 100% I'm going to need to use 4th at the track.

Re: Big Brown's Automagic - The last episode in my DSM story.
Made some more progress today, I decided to relocate my AFPR and hookup my electric fuel pressure gauge.
Working out how long to make the line:
ADD cut in and I pulled the battery out, stock battery in stock battery tray sucks its always in the way and just huge.
Samantha and I both drive hondas, which we all know sport small batteries so I attempted to steal one, first out of my car, but its placed between the strut tower and the firewall, so no-go on that one, then I looked at her car and its right up front with enough room to fit a larger one in.
DSM battery in honda:
Random metal I had laying around that I formed to hold the battery above the transmission but in a lower position than stock.
All done with those jobs, AFPR & battery relocation complete:
Then I decided to mount my new coolant overflow, so that I can run at the track. It is NHRA legal as it will hold over the required quart capacity.
I bought an oil catch can from ebay and plugged the ports on the top of the can, i then put a barb in the bottom and used it as a coolant resevoir.
Sorry for the shit pic.

Re: Big Brown's Automagic - The last episode in my DSM story.
Ok, feels like a long ass time since the car has been rolling.
But I rebuilt the driveshaft and boy does it feel good.
I also swapped out stock shit rear motor mount for a prothane one from the man known here as HALON!!!, thanks dude made a bigger difference than I thought and it feels good (on me).
What else? hmmm Oh I installed an end clutch kit aka 4th gear clutch kit, there were signs of burning on the stock one but not too bad, this kit should be good for the power that i can throw at it with this turbo.
So once I got all that installed I had an issue with the car blowing MPI fuses, turns out my sweet fuel pump install had a short life, somehow the bolt going thru the positive stud/bulkhead thing wore thru to the sending unit and was grounding itself out.
Thanks for 93GTPeater here for saving me with one! He also gave me his stock driveshaft because mine had a bent yoke in the middle. I love this guy.
I also fixed my power steering leak and ended up replacing the alternator, old one finally couldn't take anymore PS fluid bathing it.
So tomorrow I will be attempting to achieve my goals of 11s, after driving the car all week, I don't know if it has it, but there is only one way to find out.

Re: Big Brown's Automagic - The last episode in my DSM story.
Well I made it to the track and back home!!!
First pass ever with the automagic:
I was so fucking pumped I was ready to come home and drink the rest of the day, but Nick didn't get it on video, he said he thought I was just gonna take it easy since it was the car's first ever pass.
I then followed it up with a 11.45@119 and then I tried to get a bit more competitive with launching.
However the car had enough, and I couldn't get it to stall anymore, so after messing with the tune and some other things I called it quits and came home.
A giant thanks to everyone that has helped and encouraged me so far. Thanks to Nick for coming out there with me too.

Good work dude. Any plans to either make more power, or lighten that sucker up and go for 10.99
