I'm hearing reports of last-minute installs...people don't forget the TWO WEEK RULE! Try and do as little as possible to your car the week or two before the cruise. Get stuff installed, locked down, tested, and get some miles on the whole setup WELL in advance of leaving Saturday morning!
Last year *ahem* someone discovered loose lug nuts (twist-with-your-fingers loose!) when we got to our destination!

Just keep in mind that if you break it, you fix it. Oh, and it needs a new outer tie rod end, might want to get on that.
