Re: Ricer Pete's Galant
MY CAR RUNS! New oil pan, oil pickup/strainer bent back into place (just a little prybar action), and 3 rounds of fresh oil... I got her back up and running. She is a tank!
Plus... I have a new ashtray!

Re: Ricer Pete's Galant
Congratulations on getting it running, however I would suggest you replace the pickup/strainer. That is designed to sit in one specific place for a reason and if it is tweaked could result in engine damage later down the road.
One of the big reasons why 3/s's spin bearings is that the oil pans get dented which messes up the oil pan to pickup clearances.

I completely understand what you mean, and you know I always value your opinion... but, the car has 186k miles, its been beaten, bruised and I all I'm hoping for it to make it through the winter.
I was completely surprised that it fired right up when I put the new oil pan on. So really, I'm just going to drive it until the Spring.

Well if the timeline is that short, let it buck. It's a good experiment.

Re: Ricer Pete's Galant
I know I haven't been around lately, been dealing with a lot of shit.
And all the sudden this happened today. This is the end of this build thread.
Goodbye my Mitsu.. 6 years and 120,000 miles, and it ends in one split of a second.
