Richie's 1gb TSI
Now that I have the 97 sold, time to start on the 1g (94). I picked it up last year and it has been sitting ever since. It's pretty much bone stock, transmission grinds, and has a fancy chinese 16g. Pretty damn clean though!
Cons:
-Bad transmission
-Previous owner installed an aftermarket alarm system that likes to shut the car down randomly.
-Front tan leather seats are in horrible condition, need to find new seats.
Current Parts list:
FP manifold
HX40 (6 blade)
Punishment Recirc. O2 housing w/Tial MVS Wastegate
Precision 1000cc injectors
Aeromotive afpr
*3/17/16
GSC S2 Camshafts
Manley springs and TI retainers
Fp Intake
*3/29/16
Premium built Jacks transmission
Fuel Lab fpr
Calen Catch Can
DSMLink V3
Tial BOV
VRSF FMIC
Goals (to be done by the end of the year):
-Get rid of aftermarket alarm.
-Find a new transmission, or send one in to rebuild.
-Install hx40 mounted on FP manifold.
-Find a fmic
-DsmLink
-Speed density

Looks clean. Never seen an Eclipse front bumper on a Talon before, kinda opposite of mine, like it though.

We should swap, I've thought about going back to the Eclipse bumper.

Re: Richie's 1gb TSI
Glad to see my old talon ended up in the hands of somebody that's putting some work into it. Thanks for making a project thread, I look forward to see its progress!

Re: Richie's 1gb TSI
Oh yeah, I'm not letting this one get away before turning up the boost and making some power! I haven't turned up the boost past stock for any of my dsm's, biggest regret ever!! Can't send a ship out to sea before making sure it stays afloat! Lol

Did you install the aftermarket alarm in it? That's the biggest issue I have right now. I have the entire alarm removed and all wires out but the car still won't start nor will the windows roll up. The only thing that hasn't been removed is the split on the ground cable for the ignition switch. It was split in two, and I even connected them using a wire but the car is still not allowing me to bypass the alarm. I'm stuck on what it could be.. *I drove it home from the guy I bought it from.*

Re: Richie's 1gb TSI
I'm not sure about the alarm, as I don't even remember if it had one it during my ownership. I bought the car from a guy in Duluth who is the one who rebuilt the engine. It had sat in his parents barn for years (oil change sticker was from 2004 and only had about 1000 miles more on the car than the sticker) so that's partially why it's in such great shape. I sold the car to a member on this site, and don't know the history past that. I did the exhaust (3 inch with a test pipe), suspension(kyb gr2 with tein s-tech), and those wheels and tires are off my old neon. Here's a throwback pic to the day I bought it.

Re: Richie's 1gb TSI
Must've been the guy who bought it after you. I wish the hood was never carbon fiber wrapped Do you remember what exhaust you put on it?

Re: Richie's 1gb TSI
I forget the name of the downpipe, buts it's a 3", and the catback is a srs 3" stainless. The hood had a huge dent and was in really bad shape, so that is why it's wrapped

Sweet, good to know. Well that makes sense lol, I would've been pissed if it was a clean hood that was wrapped.
