removing abs

Now that the engine is out. I'm about to start removing my abs on my Talon awd. I've read a couple FAQs and they all say I need a non-abs proportioning valve & 4 brake lines. I'll post up and ask here, does anyone have a donor car with the lines & valve? Or point me to where I can find them locally?

Re: removing abs

We gave some we had to jakey for free. You could look in a junk yard to try and find some that aren't rusted out. I thought I heard they don't make one of the lines you need anymore so if you cant find one, you might have to make it.

Me- "I don't think you would stand a chance."
Cop says "probably not" and drives off.

Re: removing abs

The proportioning valve is no longer available. I believe the lines are no longer available as well.

Re: removing abs

Yeah, but they are on parts cars and in junk yards in good supply. I got mine up at John's in Blaine years ago.

Re: removing abs

Does anyone know of a tech article anywhere describing the removal of all 1G abs-related electronics? I'm sure if I RTFM I could figure it out but it's always nice to have an easier method.

Re: removing abs

Why do people remove the ABS on these cars? I haven't ever owned a 1G with ABS.

Re: removing abs

yes you will need the non-abs proportioning valve. you can get both of what you need at the junkyard (upullrparts). that valve and the 2 front brake lines to the front rotors. you don't need to replace the rears. that's it.

later.

Re: removing abs

I deleted my abs in the stealth. Similar setup to the dsm's. I re-used my prop-valve, and just made a few lines. Its pretty easy to do if you know what you are doing.
That being said, the EASIEST is to get the bolt-in (N/A) solution.

Re: removing abs

I don't want to do it because of weight, but to get all the ABS shit out of my engine bay.
