Celebrity Sightings...
So today I went to Southdale mall in Edina with the GFto possible go to the movies but we decided to just shop aroudn and get some food. Around 9PM we were walking to the exit of the mall by the movie theatre and I notice a group of guys that look kind of familiar but since I dont listen to their music Im not positive... the GF started freaking out because we were standing in front of one of the guys from the Backstreet Boys.
He was getting money out of the ATM by the arcade. The rest of the guys were in the arcade playing games with their 2 security guards and a police officer. So I had an envelope in my pocket and I gave it to my gf and she had a pencil.
She got all of their autographs and there was really no one else around and no one knew. It was pretty cool to see famous people just hanging out and going to the movies. My gf used to really like them back in the day so thats why she started freaking out a little.
Also in line we saw the host of that show thats called "the show to be named later" that was on for a little while after SNL on saturdays, he had that chin beard thing... that guy.
Also 2 summers ago we were at the same place and outside when we got their was the premeire of that movie Hollywood Homicide... with Josh Hartnet and Harrison Ford... Only Josh was there but that was pretty cool too.
SUMMARY: Saw the backstreet boys at southdale tonight hagning out in the arcade. Saw Josh hartnet in the same place 2 years ago...
What celebrities have you guys seen locally or really anywhere in person or close up?

Josh Hartnett is a local anyways. My friend went out with his sister. "Celebrities" are cool to see though they are just people like you and me.

Re: Celebrity Sightings...
Jana's sister's husband Patrick used to work for Schwanns. He used to deliever to Josh Hartnets sister all the time and Josh was there a few times.
When I lived in Chicago it wasn't un common for me to see members of the Bulls. I never saw them play but a few times when I was downtown I would see Pippen and Jordan outside some of the fancy restuarants doing interviews and taking pics with people.

No, it wasn't Josh H, it was that guy that was on Roswell...some Jason guy & Patrick had gone to High School with him. My sister was a huge fan of his from Roswell, so she got his autograph.

I work at Byerly's in Chanhassen and Daunte Culpepper shops once in a while, he tipped me 20$ when i was on parcel loading his Denali. Prince's wife always shops here to, she drives a white Z3 that's all pimped out, i've seen him once sit inside the car while his wife shopped.Ex-Viking Chris Hovan was a regular and Jim Kleinsasser(Viking) shops all the time during the spring and summer.

Re: Celebrity Sightings...
Over the past few years I've seen countless players from the Vikings, Twins and Timberwolves... Malls, grocery stores, you name it.

I'll have to keep my eye out. Our company moved out to Chanhassen at the end of April, and I've been into Byerly's once.

Re: Celebrity Sightings...
When I worked the Computer Tech bench at Best Buy in Richfield I saw and met a lot of athletes, some musicians and a couple actors. Here are the ones woth mentioning:
Randy Moss - Dick, told me not to tell anyone he was here, had a fishing hat pulled down tight over hiding his face.
Robert Grifith - Cool Guy. Came buy often and stopped over at the tech bench everytime he visited the store, always talked about how he wanted to get into music and acting.
Jimmy Kliensasser - Cool guy, bought a few computers one summer from BB
Daunte Culpepper - Cool guy, didn't talk to him much
Doug Chapman - Tried to pay with those starter checks where you have to write everything out, we wouldn't take it, he pulled the I'm a Viking player, the GM talked to him for a while and he ended coming back with Randy Moss to buy his shit for him
Robert Smith - Can't remember much about him but he came in often to buy cds and dvds.
Twins Players:
Hrbek - Worked on his computer, he brought it in a few times, eneded up doing work on the side for him. We still keep in contact. It's funny when my roomates are like, "hrbek is on the caller ID." He once came into Best Buy and had his world series ring on, not sure which one, but it was a huge "M" full of diamonds. A business woman was also at the tech bench that day having her laptop looked at. They kind of talked a bit, then she finally asked what that ring was all about. Hrbek said, "oh, this is a world series ring" she said something stupid and introduced herself, then Hrbek left. She then asked me "whos kent Hrbek?". haha
Musicians:
Dave Grohl, Foo Fighters - We had the Foo Fighters play 4 or 5 songs during the day at our store. Got pretty crazy with people in the store. I went shopping with one of the roadies and then Dave Grohl joined us, bought a shit load of PS2 games DVDs and some cds. Dave was very cool, I got all of the bands autographs. It was funny as they started lighting up cigarettes and the GM was going to say something and then decided to just let it go. Told Nate in the foo fighters that I owned a couple sunny day real estate cds, he laughed.
Actors:
Josh Hartnet
Rachel Leigh Cook
Before Best buy, when I was in college in 1998, I met the guys from The Blooghound Gang at an edge fest and myself and a few friends went on tour with the band for a couple shows in milwaukee and chicago. One of the best times of my life.

Daunte Culpepper and a bunch of other big black guys (football players???) were bowling at Eden Prarie lanes last night. They were there from 9-11:30 when we left.

Re: Celebrity Sightings...
When I worked at the Circuit City in Edina I met Randy Moss(he came in at least twice a month and loaded a basket full of video games, cds, and dvds), Willie Offord(special teams for the Vikes), and Terrance Shaw(Vikes).
When I was at the Circuit in Woodbury I helped Rob Zombie pick out a portable DVD player for his tour bus because his went out on the way to Ozzfest. He tipped me with a pair of tickets, w00t.

Tom, you're just jealous cuz the BSB doesn't have to make provocative flyers for their parties to trick girls into thinking that it's the cool place to be.

Re: Celebrity Sightings...
I sat and talked to Winona Ryder back in '94, had no idea who she was when her sunglasses were on, just noticed she was thinner than normal for Minnesota girls. Talked for a while, she was really nice, but was kinda surprised I didn't know who she was. She got up to leave and took off her sunglasses and my jaw dropped. She was about the hottest actress to me at the time.
Met Marc Cohn the singer when we used to clean his boat. Real jackass.
Met Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis several times when we cleaned both of their boats on Tonka, both really nice guys.
I've met a few of the Vikings, but I didn't know who they were and really didn't care. Watching someone else play sports is boring.

First off, If we dont get the people there we dont have a job. and we are not Tricking anyone, we dont need to.
Secondly, "BSB" as you fans may call them, SUCK ASS. They have never made a single song that is remotly good, and the only people that actually listen to them are either 12 year old girls, or flaming homosexuals.
