My life turns around this weekend
Just had an interview at Starbuck's this evening, and sounds like they're offerering me a job. The manager called some corporate guy to "refer" me to their Apple Valley location, and I have a 2nd interview on Friday, but it looks like they intend to hire me.
I know, it's no high-paying job, and none of you probably care anyway, but it's a step in the right direction for me! I applied for shift manager... hopefully that's what their intentions are with me.
And what's more, I am eligible to get my full-fledged license back as of this coming Saturday. I can't believe it's already been a year, but at the same time, it feels like it's taken forever!
So yeah, just wanted to publically display my excitement.

Don't Asians work in tea joints? Wal- Marts sexist, and POLOs are small, yet tough (see other thread).
Now that we are off broad generalizations, Congrats at the new gig. Good luck

Tom and stikx (more so stikx)- Those have got to be 2 of the dumbest remarks on this site yet. But that's just my opinion.
Congrats Dane, keep things moving in the right direction.

Re: My life turns around this weekend
Yeah, I've got a little over 2 yrs of experience in the coffee industry, and have nothing but good memories from those experiences. So I imagine it'll be a good fit for me.
More good news, I've found a buyer for the Galant--so people/organizations whom I owe money to get to see it soon!

Re: My life turns around this weekend
That's cool man, gotta have something to pay the bills!
As for low paying, I know several coffee shops near my office where each person puts away over $100/day in tips. Not too shabby.
Their coffee, on the other hand, is kinda sub-par in my opinion. But, it's not like there's nowhere to go in that company! I used to live in Edinburgh, Scotland, and there were 8 starbucks within ten minutes walk of my flat. Dayyym!
