Doing that helps draw out the air (Or push it) through the wastegate passage to eliminate boost creep. I would think if you had a dump it would defeat the purpose and it would blow straight exhaust out he dump all the time.

Re: Porting wastgate dump area

I thought that was just done to reduce boost creep, nothing to do with spool up time or flow, it's probably a decent amount worse for flow.

Are you saying your o2 housing is already undivided?

Looks like you got that broken stud out of the turbine housing, nice.

Correct my o2 housing is already undivided... I'm just worried because the flapper never swings fully open on these damn things... and its a new turbine housing & turbo... just waiting for gaskets bolts & studs..

Who said anything about spool up or flow? I think you'd also have to run the LIPP o2 housing that is all open and doesn't seperate the wastegate passage and exhaust like the stock o2 housing does.

Haha I posted the same time as you (well was writing mine as you posted yours), the spool or flow comment wasn't directed towards your post. Just telling the OP it's just to reduce boost creep.

If you already have an O2 that's undivided I guess it can't hurt, but personally I'd get a divided setup.

Well shit.. Then you don't even need to worry about boost creep. Mine crept on me when I tried to run 16psi. So I went E85 and anything over 20psi is already over that "creep" point. I'm sure you won't have any issues with it.

Re: Porting wastgate dump area

Find a tubular o2 housing for cheap and ditch the undivided housing. If you have the LIPP housing you'll make some money too. Just my .02

Re: Porting wastgate dump area

Think I'm just gonna port it out a little more so it comes to a point almost were they meet.
And its not a LIPP, its just a ported Evo o2 housing.
