Re: New Ride!
My buddy has an 03 with the V8 and he's been pretty happy with it but he has had some electrical issues.

Did you make sure to read through the warranty paperwork to see if it actually covers anything? Alot of times those aftermarket warranties are a joke. Sometimes not though.

Its not a bumper to bumper warranty. but it covers all of the engine, drive train and a lot. i made sure it was a good one.
the last time i bought a warranty was on my 99 gsx. right before the warranty expired, i blew 2 turbos, and crankwalked an engine. I got my moneys worth on that one.

Yup, baby mobile that can eventually tow a daddy and baby toy to the track and back.
The plan is that when i get back to MN and get established and get ahead on bills, ill pick up an evo or dsm and make it full drag/autox and tow it to the track and back. Just a fun project for me and my son, nothing that will cause me to miss work or need a ride to work because its broke. I will never rely on a dsm again for transportation.
by the way, to all applying for a job and you only have a dsm for transportation, when they ask if you have reliable transportation, you must check NO. ha ha ha

Re: New Ride!
Nice truck. Leather in the winter isn't an issue if they are heated. I'd take heated leather seats over cloth seats any day.

Re: New Ride!
I wouldn't plan on towing a car with that Tom. I had an Exploder with a 5.0 V8 in it and it could barely tow anything. I was scared for my life towing with that thing. Our Durango with the 5.9 isn't too bad (if the tranny would take it), but still pretty small. You want something Tahoe sized before towing a car becomes safe with an SUV, unless you can dolly it, but that isn't easy with an Evo.

Really? I wouldnt think it would be that difficult with a 4 wheel trailer. Especially if the car is a tin can with a motor.
I suppose it all depends on the tranny.

Re: New Ride!
We towed a GSX on a flatbed from L.A. to Yuma with a base model 2dr. V6 RWD Exlporer. Definately wasn't the ideal situation, and we traveled under the speed limit for the whole trip. Power wasn't ideal but it worked. The main issues was the weight and the truck wanting to do a wheely the whole time.
