New Project?

Yay or nay. I stand to pick this up really cheap but I can't decide.

Nay. Just not a car that interests me. If it were a C5 or newer I'd think differently

That is what I was thinking. I was looking at getting a c5 but then found the deal on my viper. I would much rather have the viper than a vette. Didn't think the viper was in my price range until I started looking around.

I like the C5 and it is what I want but this is a good deal. PLus they have body parts that'll make it look almost like a C5. Then again theres 1000 more bucks I can put into the motor.

It depends on what your goals are for the car and how long you are looking to keep it.

Personally, I wouldn't do anything to the body unless you plan on keeping it for a long time. IMO, you probably won't be able to get out what you threw into it.

Not sure your age but in a few years, you will hopefully be making more money and will be able to afford the C5 that you want. That was my goal and as soon as I left college, I bought the viper.

Good luck with the car. A pair of turbos would be cool. I was looking at a twin turbo mustang a couple of years ago. Not sure where I would be now (what I would be driving) if I bought that....

Re: New Project?

I will not touch the body. I just thought some of the kits looked nice which most of the time isn't the case. It will be a fun project I think if I'm still interested in the spring. I won't be picking it up until then. I just finished getting it ready for storage and personally have no place to put it. So I'll finish the DSM this winter and deal with the vette in the spring. I can't wait.

Vipers are surprisingly cheap, my friend had an '05 for 42k and it only had 38k miles on it, thing was clean.

Another cool thing is the owners think they are hot.

Re: New Project?

I own a Laser and I am HOT.

I'm not sure about this vette thing. I think it may have been impulse cause it was in my garage. Why not spend the money on the DSM? If anybody else wants this thing the owner is asking $4500 which for its condtion is still a great deal.

I think I'll turn this to other cars that are sweet for cheap.

Like LS1 260Z's and turbo cyclones (rode in one today INSANE)

I'm rambling I'll quit now.

Or a sweet nitrous kit and maybe you can roll with 16G cars.

Yeah then I found that they aren't that expensive and they bolt to the stock trans. I still can't locate the wiring adapter. I know they make them.
