Dish - Direct TV - Cable

With our move coming up here soon (2 weeks away!! wOOt) we are looking at options for TV. I really love Charter's cable TV out here with the DVR setup that comes with it. I am looking to see what people suggest for Dish or Direct TV if we don't go with cable, which I think is Comcast in Crystal. I want a DVR setup in multiple rooms (3-4) and other than that I don't really care. Not really concerned with HBO and shit, just want to have Spike, USA, And those expanded channels.

The only issue is the weather. I really don't want to have to worry about being inside with no tv is the weather is bad. I just wonder how much this would actually interupt programing.

Looking for comments and reviews.

I have comcast in Fridley. The service is pretty good, but not real cheap. The internet is fast too. They have a triple pack you can sign up for, internet, cable and phone for $99/mo. Not a bad deal.

The $99 a month is for the first like, 3 months, then after that it goes up. I'm not sure by how much, but when it does go up you could just drop the phone line.

Does Comcast have a DVR option? Anyone else want to voice thoughts on the others? My parents are with Dish, I don't mind it when I'm there and they used to have Direct TV which they said they didn't like.

I have Dish Network with HD/dual-DVR and love it; the nice thing about Dish Network is that they have the NFL channel which has a lot of games. Plus they have about 6 ESPN channels too. Everything else I could care less about, but there is around 450 channels or something. Its about 82 dollars a month in Red Wing.

Re: Dish - Direct TV - Cable

I have Comcast right now and they have the 2nd worst customer service ever, only Charter is worse. Comcast is also very expensive compared to Dish/DirectTV. I am getting DirectTV in a few weeks and for less money than Comcast you get a lot more channels a better picture quality. My dad has DirectTV and it only has gone out twice on him, one last winter for about 30 minutes and once this summer for about 5 minutes.

Dish drops any time there is bad weather, which is a lot. It's a pain in the ass, I feel like I'm living in a third world country.
