My guess is, they measure how many inches your head sticks above the seat when sitting down and enter it into the machine and it makes sure your head doesn't hit the ground but gets damn close.

I don't think they'd do this. The moves are programmed into the machine. It's just one of those robots that does assembly line work for automotive manufacturers. The thing can lift tons upon tons and put the piece in a precise position within fractions of an inch.
