DAPs, iPods, MP3 players, etc.
What do you have? I always thought these were a fad, until I bought one last spring. I bought a 1gb SanDsik player. It's pretty basic, but it works. Then I wanted more storage and more features so I just bought a SanDisk Sansa E280 8gb flash drive player. It's supposed to compete with the iPod Nano. The only difference is that the Sansa has more features, bigger screen, more memory, and costs less.
For a little more I could have gotten a 30gb player, but I like the durability of a flash drive. I don't have to worry so much about bumping or dropping it and damaging the hard drive. Plus the battery life is much better without any moving parts.
So what do you have? Where do you get your music from? With the download police handing out lawsuits like candy on Halloween, I've been thinking about joining a music service and getting my music legit.

Re: DAPs, iPods, MP3 players, etc.
I have just the iPod Shuffle. For the price and what I was going to use it for, it works fine. The only thing I don't like is even when you don't have it on "random/shuffle" mode, it still doesn't play the songs in order. So you can go for a while without hearing a song you want, but then hear another song several times.
I'll probably look into something else down the road, but for now it's fine. Can you post up a link to the one you have?

I've got an iPod shuffle and a Nano. I've also got a cdplayer that plays mp3 discs, so I can burn a cd full of mp3's and it'll play them all!
I get a lot of music from either iTunes, ipodnova.net, or mininova.org

I have an "old school" 40GB iPod photo. Its cool, my main use of the iPod is in my cars since that is where i spend a lot of my time.
Its pretty cool, but u have to use playlists to get the most out of it i think, but usually i just use shuffle and skip a lot.

Re: DAPs, iPods, MP3 players, etc.
I had a 4 gig nano that I got for my birthday a year and a half ago. I got a lot of use out of it, but it randomly started to break after about 8 months. At first, the backlight would come on for the whole screen but only the top half of the screen would have the printing and shit on it. After a couple days it would only be the white backlight. I called Apple and it was still under warranty so they said they would check it over and fix it for free if it was determined it wasnt user error. Well theres a catch. Obviously you have to ship it there and that isnt a big deal (what like $5?) but they charge a "shipping and handling fee" of like $50 reguardless of whether it is found to be user error or not. On top of all of that, she said the problem sounded like a problem caused by a hard drop or hit (never dropped btw) and that it was most likely going not going to be under warranty. So it was going to cost more to fix it than it originally cost. So that sucked pretty bad.
I got to school and really wanted something to play music again. When the new ipods came out, I was going to snag another 4 gig since they went down in price like $50. Well, a guy down the hall got a free nano when he got his computer. Its the older style, but it was only $100 NIB so that was pretty cool.

I have the 4g (Click wheel) 40gb ipod. This thing is great and a pile of crap. I just need to fill oh say 14 more gigs of hdd space on it and its full. Haha Well I been getting mp3's for awhile. So my collection has grown. Back when Napster was free that is. But I also use Limewire. Screw them lawsuits. If they catch me eh...I say I rented them all from the libary. I also got a bunch of songs off of itunes when Pepsi had that promo with the get one song free caps. And ripping albums from friends. So long story short I love mp3's. Mine is a good 2 years old. I need a new HDD and case for it. Maybe a battery. The battery is still going strong but eh...for 70 dollars I can replace it my self. But them mini HDD are spendy I tell ya.

Re: DAPs, iPods, MP3 players, etc.
I have the newer 30gb black ipod, with video n etc. Quite nice, since I used to have the 1st gen one before I sold it for car parts. This one I like a lot more, and I even want to sell my car stereo setup for just a basic deck I can plug the ipod into.

Swift, if your deck now has a audio in...don't bother selling it. Just get some AV jacks that have a headphone jack connection on the other side. And there ya go. Plug them AV jacks into the back of the deck...run the headphone jack into the ipod and your set. Or just get a radiotuner for it. I use the monster one. I rather get one thats more stationary. That monster cable is the reason why my HDD is kinda broke.
