I ordered transfer case input and output seals today. I'm also going to do the vfaq slip yoke leak fix.

not quite yet, but getting closer. I pulled the lower timing cover today to fix a oil leak. It was the top bolt of the front case seeping oil, I sealed the threads, torqued it a little tighter. I also fixed the transfer case leak this past week. Just getting the last bugs worked out, Ill be setting up a time at db really soon.

Drove down the street today for its first wash since I got it. Took some pictures afterwards, still waiting to get tuned.

Im gonna get it tuned as is, and drive it for the rest of summer/fall. Then over winter I'm thinking Ill upgrade from this 14b, upsize injectors, and switch to speed density.

Just found this picture, it was a couple weeks ago when I put in a new LF output shaft seal and new transfer case seals.

Love it! Just drive it and have fun. A little tuning to make sure everything is healthy and some miles is all this thing needs!
Where are you located again? I'd love a ride sometime if it ever works out!

Thanks, I've put a lot of hard work into this. I'm considering selling this if anyone is interested.

Re: 1g 6 bolt 4g63 tsi build
Today I installed a rear strut tower brace, cleaned the bottom side of the hood. Took some pictures. I've been driving this to work the past couple days. I've put about 500 miles on it since assembly.

Re: 1g 6 bolt 4g63 tsi build
That makes me miss it a small amount now. I'd still like to get to see it, you should pm me your # again, I lost it when my phone went kaput a few weeks ago.
I always wanted to paint those wheels bronze since they were my backup wheels just to see how it would look.

I was thinking of having them powder coated black, bronze would look nice though, didn't even think of that.
Today I aligned the talon, it was way off, I'll post a picture of the printout soon. Drives way better now. Also, found 1 of the u-joints on the driveshaft has some play. Im going to swap it with my other driveshaft sitting in the garage, it has good u-joints. I also noticed a lot of backlash in the rear diff, and a howling noise around 50mph. Im going to swap driveshafts to see if it improves otherwise I'll be looking for a replacement rear LSD.

Re: 1g 6 bolt 4g63 tsi build
Should get some driveshaft bushings as well, you'd be surprised at how solid it makes everything feel.

Alignment print-off, handles great now, all the eccentric bolts turned like butter.

Re: 1g 6 bolt 4g63 tsi build
So I just changed the rear diff oil. The magnetic drain plug had a quite a bit of metal shavings, but definitely not the worst I've seen. The fluid was pretty thin, very dark and didn't smell like gear oil at all. With the fresh 75w90 and some limited slip supplement, I'm hoping my "howling" noise improves or goes away completely. I'm going to keep daily driving it, so far about 700 miles on it since the initial assembly of the car. I'm also hoping to get the cash together so I can bring it down to DB for a tune.

I'm assuming you're talking about the 2 driveshaft carrier bearings, my plan is to replace those with the new u-joints for sure.
