Re: 91 Galant VR4
Getting loaded up in the AM. I will drive up after work tomorrow to BIR. Run threw tech Saturday am, then run 1 or 2 test passes 1st threw 3rd gear to confirm the 60' and the tune. Then I will be ready for a few good full passes and try to better my 9.45@156.9mph from last year.

From what I saw on fb, bunch of broken axles, and a 9.8 @ 150.

Re: 91 Galant VR4
The track had tons of grip, to much for my setup. I broke 5 axles in 3 passes, the number of cars and classes plus no open time trials limited me to 3 runs Saturday and 1 elimination run Sunday morning.
First pass we upped tire pressure to 16psi, and left the line with 8psi. We broke both rear axles at the line.
Swapped out both axles and the 2nd run left the line at 7k with a slip launch no two step. 1.6 60' and ran a 9.8@150.
We made some changes and for the last run of the day we left the line at 7k again no 2 step and broke the driver rear axle at the 30' mark and the car took off for the wall, I counter steered and let off.
Swapped axles and made a few more changes, tire pressure was set to 22psi and our first round of eliminations Sunday left the line at 7k again no 2 step and broke both rear axles at the line, the other guy did not red light, or break out, so that was it for the weekend.
It was a fun weekend and we will try and come up with a plan for cedar falls later this year.

Re: 91 Galant VR4
Last Friday night the car made its way all over the streets of down town like it was the early 2000's. We hit up the sears lot by the capital, holiday by spring steet, parked at the Rainbow lot, drove around a hole lot and had a great night.
Rolled with a twin turbo viper that could have been a fun race, but conditions were not in our favor to see, and saw a Twin turbo Pontiac GTO just shy of 1000whp that would have been another good race, but he hung around kasoto and Spring street.... next time I suppose.
I think between driving to and from work and all around I put 120 miles on the car in 1 day, dang.
This Saturday I will be up at a car show just south of Milaca MN, anyone who wants to join is welcome.

Re: 91 Galant VR4
WHY IS IT THAT I DID NOT HEAR OF THIS ADVENTURE BEFORE IT WENT DOWN HA! Maybe we should just plant a tracking device on your vehicle so we can all know when some serious mitsu smack down is about to occur ! Good to hear you're enjoying the car though!

Re: 91 Galant VR4
You would beat both cars. That gto doesnt hook at all if its the same one brad raced. The tt viper was a black gts with a wing? You should post up when your going out next. Havent raced a fast car yet with the bike.

Blue w/white stripes and I am fairly confident that the Galant, without issues, would pull the viper, power to weight ratio alone dictates that.

Oh I think I have seen that car. It should win. But anything can happen in a real race. I would love to cruise with you guys next time. You going to make it to the track again this year?

Re: 91 Galant VR4
Yes cedar falls for the midway shoot out is my last chance at the track this year.
I pulled the logs and all is good. The car was 1 second faster from 7500rpm in 2nd gear to 9500rpm in 3rd gear then my 9.8@150 run at the Muscle car shootout.
And compared to my 9.45@156.9 run from last year I was gaining an average 20.xmph(9.4 run 2nd-3rd) and that night it was 18.8mph/sec average.
From 7500rpm in 2nd(~64) to 9500rpm in 3rd(~126) took about 3.24 seconds, including a .3 sec shift. All said and done at that boost level I figure my car would trap about 155, we did go from a 24" tall tire to a 26" tall slick. So I figured at similar power we would loss MPH, but the short times would more then make up for it.
I should make it out the next week or 2 pending weather, until then see you at the track.
