Re: 1945/2000 is mine!

Sick of this so called "winter" season, and wasting my snow tires on dry pavement every day so I put the summer wheels on. I like the 18's on the Galant, I'm curious what others think. My guess is the general vote will be too big:

Yes, car is filthy. I'm now working back at my old quick-lube car wash job so I'm going to wash it really good, wax it, and clean the inside tomorrow after work.

I like 18's in general, I think they look a little big because they're sticking out (at least it appears so from the second pic). 17's with a slightly higher offset I think would look better.

That's a pretty sweet FMIC.

That's kind of a problem with my current brake setup, it spaces the front wheels out further than I'd like for sure. In the rear, it's pretty damn even from the top of the wheel well to the top of the wheel. I'll need to modify either the knuckles to move the calipers further towards the center of the car or find a different rotor combination.

The intercooler is working really well. Spool is very quick and it pulls harder at every psi of boost than before. Now I need some 650's and cams.

Re: 1945/2000 is mine!

Took a couple pics after washing it at work. Finally had a chance to clean my garage up a bit with the nice weather.

I'm really needing DSMlink. I'm so damn sick of my knock sensor picking up every stupid little thing thats going on. That, and I need bigger injectors and don't want to tune with the translator anymore.

18s! I remember putting 17s on my old gvr4...from a distance, it looked big maybe because it wasn't lowered.

I'm going to try rocking out my stealth tt wheels that I painted once I can get the tires swapped over. They should look a bit better and not stick out so much I's think.

Took a couple more pics the other day after washing it:

The transmission I assembled is almost to 3000 miles but is making noises. Luckily I found a good trans/t-case combo for 125 so I'm just waiting on some Diaqueen trans fluid to arrive and then I'll swap it. Car is running okay, knock sensor still sucks. I'm rocking 20-22 psi but I'm running out of fuel at 22. A friend of mine has some 750's that I'll put in to take care of that issue. If not, then I'll have to get a 255 wally.

I would seriously consider it, but it hits fuel cut due to the IDC's being so high at 23 psi. With my e3 16g internaly gated, the boost creeps sometimes to 25 psi so I gotta be careful. I know it pulls decent, but I do want numbers for once.

Sounds like you just need to run E85 and embrace the higher boost!

I am really intrigued by E85, but for now I'm stickin with 93 octane. All I need is a little bit more fuel and I'll be very happy.

Re: 1945/2000 is mine!

Was able to mount the tires I bought off of Cam, Nitto 555zr's 235/45/R17. Mounted them on my stealth TT rims that I just finished painting black. I like the new look, not nearly as flashy as the 18's and better grip.

Re: 1945/2000 is mine!

I just thought I'd post in my thread that I finally broke the transmission that I assembled. Happened last night, cracked the case. I'm very happy that it lasted for 10k hard miles though.

Sorry to hear about your transmission!

Did you ever get your oil pan leak fixed?
