Make sure you bring your back seats and hatch cover, Bushnuts made a point about those being required unless you're running bracket or Q16, although no one's ever checked at the SO. Better safe than sorry.

Im not stripping my car, but niether am I going to try to find a hatch cover.
Other than bracket or Q16, what other classes are there that you would be "opting out of" without those?

I might actually be able to make this one. I've yet to make a DSM Shootout because of my military work schedule. But hey, I am a civilian in a few more months!!! So as long as I make it home and get all my new shit on and working, then I might be able to finally go to one.

Drive the RV over, stay at the track, drag a broken DSM home!

Re: 2005 Buschur Shoot Out!
I wonder how the attendance will be this year? People don't seem to be discussing it across the net like the previous years.

I think there is some concern over the car that burnt up at the track earlier this season. Also the problems with cleaning up the track after fluid spills last year doesn't help any. Some people doubt the prep put into the event by the track staff.

Re: 2005 Buschur Shoot Out!
I dont think theres THAT much concern over the car fire this year. If you think your car could potentially start on fire, dont race it. I keep a fire extinguisher in my car and I have never been worried or concerned about a tracks fire fighting abilities.
I think the lack of interest is largely because DSMs are getting old, and because last years SO kind of sucked. All the fast cars went to the FP shootout instead, plus we got rained on.

Re: 2005 Buschur Shoot Out!
I think going to a 1 day event really hurt it too. Having the import day on Sat gave you 2 days of racing, plus Friday night. I got a ton of racing in during 2003. Now it won't be nearly as much fun. I am still going though.

Re: 2005 Buschur Shoot Out!
I wish another shop would pick up the ball and have the event yearly at Cedar Falls. Ohio is a long damn drive to haul a DSM back and forth. Norwalk sucks but the track is decent.

Re: 2005 Buschur Shoot Out!
I'm going. Due to a mix-up in plans, I ended up getting a hotel up in Sandusky. Less partying with the NABR crew, but closer to bars and entertainment. I've got the trailer, nice tow rig and now I just need to get the car up and running. Doh.

Re: 2005 Buschur Shoot Out!
Looks like I'm going. I'll be there Saturday night and Sunday. Anyone have a list of the hotels people usually stay at? I do have a back up plan if I can't find one.
Hope to see some of you guys there! I'll be driving the Silver Stealth with MN plates. The Talon hasn't proven itself in the reliability department yet.

Re: 2005 Buschur Shoot Out!
I just got back from the shootout. The drive was long, but it was worth it. Shepherd's car is completely insane. Seeing that in person and watching it run was amazing. Took a bunch of pics, here is a link:
