The local SCCA chapter has been following this very closely and trying to work with them help make this happen. It sounds like they are still looking.
This was the most progress made by any organization to get a track built close to the cities in a long time. They should not be put down because of it. I think most of the problem came from the ignorance of the local people. There were many people for the track, but some mis-informed people that were against it. They came up with some great excuses at the town meetings of why they didn't want a track there.
