Yeah, but finding a site isnt just another issue to be worked out, it's THE issue to be worked out. I wont even hold my breath for any of these places until they break ground and lay down some tar.

No surprise. We've been hearing these rumors for at least five years about a local track. I wish they'd put up something like they had in Keewatin years ago. Two lanes of smooth new blacktop and a small tower. Dirt pit roads, no concession stand, no bleachers. Basic but it'd get the job done if they could get a site approved for it.

One of the guys in charge of this thing is a member on TCStangs and posted a couple of weeks ago that it wasnt over yet. He didnt seem too confident though, so I highly doubt it is going to happen. Looks like CF and RF will still be getting the area business.

The local SCCA chapter has been following this very closely and trying to work with them help make this happen. It sounds like they are still looking.

This was the most progress made by any organization to get a track built close to the cities in a long time. They should not be put down because of it. I think most of the problem came from the ignorance of the local people. There were many people for the track, but some mis-informed people that were against it. They came up with some great excuses at the town meetings of why they didn't want a track there.
