Re: Track Time, maybe.
Basically all WB02's have a narrow band output. The AEM sensor is WAY cheaper than the FJO. You can get them for under $50 a pop. I have 5 sitting at home

Possibly tomorrow night. There will be some cool weather at the track and low humidity (well low for Louisiana anyway ). I think the 19 hour drive might be a little too far to dyno. Now if Shane wants to pack the Dyno-jet down here, I'd be on board all the way.
Still waiting on the wide-band to come in. Hint, hint Shane.

High tomorrow in the mid 50's. Turbo cars love cold air.

Ha, mid 50s. If it was that warm here I would be at the damn beach. Yeah just checked here and it was 28 below with the wind chill.

That's true, but I don't have to use a metal detector to locate my car and dig it out of a snow bank to go cruising either.

Re: Track Time, maybe.
Thats a pretty good ET for the MPH you ran considering the weight of the car. You can tell by the trap speed the car isn't tuned right yet. Running 24 psi I would say the car should be trapping over 120 even on pump gas. Even with them 18s, but they aren't helping any.
Good run though. Now just get a tune with 30+lbs and some C16.

Re: Track Time, maybe.
I had a couple of friends of mine out there, one of which, Charlie, was running his twin t-61 turbo Camaro with a 355 cid sbc. He never could make a full pass with it, kept getting loose and loosing traction once the boost came on (18 psi), especially once it got past the 1/8th mile marker. This is a full race chassis Camaro, fiberglass front cap, tubbed rear, big slicks, etc. He had to let out of his best pass, but it still went 9.65 @ 121.xx mph. The car has gone 8.56 @ 164.xx on his old engine, so we are all waiting to see what the new engine does.
So anyway, none of them are really into DSM's or know anything about them all that much. They are all v8 guys. So on my second pass at 21 psi I hit an 12.224 @ 115.22 on a 1.92 60 ft they thought that was all I was going to see out of pump gas. I told them there was an 11 second pass in there and they were about to see it. Well once I got back to the staging lanes with that 11.88 time slip they were really impressed. I could see a couple of them getting that look in their eyes that this little 4 banger might put a hurt on a couple of their v8 race cars with some c16. Isn't life great?!?!?

I'm going to wait until my wide-band is installed. I really don't want to push it that hard yet, not knowing where exactly my a/f ratio is at.

Yeah thats a good idea. Just curious how much timing your are seeing running 24lbs on pump gas? And if you are seeing any knock?

It was a really clean run for timing, except for 4th gear.
1st gear, no knock
2nd gear, 1.1 deg knock in 2 spots
3rd gear, .4 deg knock in 1 spot
4th gear, 3.5 deg knock retard towards the end, probably due to heat build-up in the cylinders.
That was on 18.1 total timing @ 7000+ rpm. 820 deg C EGT.
I plan to take the timing down a little more to be on the safe side. Other than 4th gear, the engine seemed to do good.
If anybody is running DSMLink v2.5, I can send a copy of the run.

Re: Track Time, maybe.
Yeah I figured there was some knock retard since your trap speed was a little low for your setup and boost level. But better safe than sorry with no wideband tuning.
