Re: project mini

I also see some dsm parts on the mini (2g 420a parts) the wires and coil. Not a big surprise there sence the mini motor was made by bmw and mitsu.

Re: project mini

well my dad (ken) and I put the header, cat back, short shifter on the car. All I have to say it was the longest 6hour install ever. For the short shifter the cat back has to be taken out and the heat sheilds. for the header you have to take out all the upper heat sheilds to even see the dumb thing. then you have to take all the lowers ones out also. Then you have to drop the header down and turn it 90 to get it out around the sub frame.
I did take a lot of pics
OBX header

OBX cat back

Re: project mini

the oem 1300.00 header. that was cut apart to reuse the cat. Had to do it mini guys said the car will not even run with a test pipe in it.

Re: project mini

the cat with the obx pipe welded to it. so it will bolt to the obx header

also put in the wideband bung right be for the cat

the header bolted back in before the 2 upper heat sheilds went back in

also had to reuse part of the mid pipe from the oem cat back used 47in's of it. the only cat backs for the mini are well over 1k. and the pipe that is on there is 2.5 to start whit and is manderal bent

Re: project mini

LOLerskates at the oem exhaust routing! And wtf is that bulge on the stock downpipe, in front of the cat but after the flex section?!?!

I can't believe you didn't just put a test pipe in and see what happened LAME guys, LAME!

WTF on the short shifter too, how do you even get the stock one out? I see no removable retainer cup??

Re: project mini

it was a pain in the ass to get out. there is a plastic cup that come out then it is all about twisting and pulling.

One the test pipe mini guy have done it and the car will not run at all. They have even reflashed the ecu and would run in only limp mode. Just put it in like all the other guy that have done it the same way and the obx header back is a proven 15whp on the dyno.
