I don't think DSMS have lifters Im pretty sure you are thinking of something else often mistaken for lifters. Take a boroscope and look around inside the head and make sure everything is fine.
Larry, yours sounds bad? Its called keep the oil up and you shouldn't have that issue. Do the same as I posted up there ^^ if you cant find anything, but still have the tick, take the cams out / "rockerS" and figure out whats wrong. Have you even taken off the VC?
