Probably because it's the only music they play on MTV or the radio. The only station I know that takes chances is Drive 105 (and they still don't compare to some internet streaming stations I listen to). The internet is the best place for new music and we see how well the industry is embracing that. Most of the ClearChaneel stations have a 10-20 song playlist that they force down your throut all day. That's why this crappy music sells, it's the only music some people are exposed to.

The music industry is to blame for the situation! They sign all these nobody bands/singers because it's cheaper to pay them a little on the hopes they might make it big vs. paying high dollar for real talent.

The music industry in America looks at us as cattle in the fields. They ring the dinner bell when they to sell the next greatest thing and we come running to the troths.

There are many bands/singers who are much better than what's on the radio, but the record companies make it so hard for you to hear them, they never get noticed. Then they blame the band/singer for not making it.
