There is an extent to which this act applies and your point is valid, unfortunately I am only experienced enough with the act to defend my own customers with remote start related issues. For anything else I am as educated as any normal joe.

And yes I understand that dealers get away with, but it is only because people are uneducated of this act, and dealers prey on this as they do with other areas where they feel customers lack knowledge(such as repair prices and "necessary" repairs).

I am just saying that dealers love to blame common defects and known issues with vehicles on aftermarket electronics in order to dodge out of warranty repairs. I have been doing this for nearly four years and have seen some really weird claims from dealer techs that customers would have believed, but fortunately people with minor mechanically knowledge and those with info about the Mag-Moss act help those people at least some of the time.
