I believe that is just the pintle cap (might be misspelled). I think it just helps with turning the fuel into a vapor as its coming out. I have heard you can run without them, but I would HIGHLY recommend not doing that. I replaced mine after getting them from napa, so they may have they for the evo's that ran them.
