Re: after 10 years its coming back to life

Got new gaskets on the drain tube no more oil leaks. Got it running on the SD set up. But now I have to pull the tranny back out of the car. It can be shifted into 3rd and 4th gear when it is running with out the clutch and there is nothing there all the other gears are fine. Just sucks but the tranny was a free be.

Pulled the tranny out when I got home from work this afternoon. The 3rd/4th shift fork has seen better days. Just need to find one then it will be ready to go.

Yep. Sucks to have to pull it back apart. But I ordered a new fork this mooring from jacks. So soon it will be ready to drive.

Re: after 10 years its coming back to life

Got the new clutch fork from jacks on sat. Also brought the tranny to work to clean it up on sat. It is now all back together and painted with alum paint. Craig is going to give me a hand getting it back in tomorrow.

Re: after 10 years its coming back to life

got the polly front and rear roll stop mounts. I had to stop working on a kids car to put them right into the spyder

this is why I got them

font rubber burned out and polly put in

got it in nice and easy and marked the mount so it was in the right spot to start with

on to the rear mount cut the old mount with the sawsall and got it out. pressed in the the alum outer ring.

put in the car. also was not to bad to get it back in. It is so nice to have all 4 polly mounts now just like all the other cars

Re: after 10 years its coming back to life

Got a set of black 3G Spyder belts from Ben (ben4g63t) whe he went to the junk yard. Got to work on them a little bit today. I took apart one of my extra tan front belts out of the 2g mount. Then took apart the 3G belt they do not come apart easy like the 2g did. Had to cut the frame apart and use a hammer and chisel on the alum drum for the belt it self. Tomorrow I will dye the faded front belts back to black.
Black 3G belts

What is left of one of the front 3G belt cages

The black belt out and ready to be dyed black since it is faded out

The 2g belt out of the cage and the cage being held with some metal so I just have to put the black belt in it and it will wind it back up.

Re: after 10 years its coming back to life

Forgot yesterday I drove the spyder into the garage. It is the first time it has been driven in almost 11 years even though it was a short drive it still was great to do it.

Today I. Got the rear black seat belts swapped into the the spyder rear belt brackets. It has not had rear seat belts in it for ever since I would not let anyone sit in the back since it is not really a real seat any way.
One done one to go

Both in the car

Now all that is tan is the rear seat. Just have to find a black leather or fabric don't care any more out of any gen spyder since they will all fit in it

Re: after 10 years its coming back to life

All the seat belts are now in the car. Just have to get rid of the tan rear seat now.

Also picked up a 3g eclispe master and booster for when I upgrade to brembos all the way around. Just need to get 2 fittings and a 2ft 3an s.s. line to make it work
