Re: Rock Fall Sport Compact Day, Sept 17th?
Joel, if it says Snell Approved DOT; look on the inside for the sticker. It will be under the foam padding. There will be a rating there. As long as it's a 2000 or newer rating, it should work. I'm not clear on the class of helmet though as in M , SA , K, etc.

Will it? Will it really?
JK, the thing I've noticed is that the MRs really don't trap well, both you and Shawn had really low trap speeds for the power the car's making.

Cool, can't wait to hear what he ran. I ended up pulling the head and fixing some stuff on the 1G today instead. Too many small things to fix to race it yet.

Not good, got 2 passes in. Track conditions sucked at my power. First pass off the trailer and the car went 10.1 @152, the track would not hold any power and I spun hard in first bogged into second and spun hard again in second. It was stupid. I should have just pulled out of the run but I wasn’t able to since adrenaline was affecting my decision making process.
Second pass was bad, popped a freeze plug out of the block when the car was bouncing off the rev limiter in first gear due to tires spinning, I was un aware of the issue and went down the track to a 10.0 @148, again spun in second bounced off rev limiter. I’m sure it was due to antifreeze soaked tires. And this time it spun in third too. Just stupid.
It will be an easy fix tomorrow, I hope I didn't fuck anything else up by making a pass with no coolant.....worried about head being warped or head gasket, fuck... Also my drivetrain was making some funky de acceleration noise and hard vibration, I think only one rear tire was spinning since the antifreeze was focused on the passenger side of the car, might not be good. We will see tomorrow.
If I go out again this year it will not be RF, maybe cedar for the midway shootout?

Ron has some crazy driving ability to exploit the best out of that setup. I wonder what its weight is? He is also running 2 piece rotors all the way around.
I would like to try some of those Hoosier radials on my Evo.

Re: Rock Fall Sport Compact Day, Sept 17th?
Car is fixed, drove it a couple of miles. I don't think there are any drivetrain issues don't know about the head gasket quite yet. I will post videos later.

Re: Rock Fall Sport Compact Day, Sept 17th?
Mark, nice to see/meet you at Rockfalls.
Kinda cool how you even paid attention to my rotors. They are the only light weight mod left from the IX RS I sold. I decided to use them for this event. Prior to yesterday, my best time was 11.20 or 11.1 at 123mph. Somehow the cold weather was working yesterday even with 30 psi in the hoosiers(couldn't find a gauge to borrow).
As for weight, I don't know the exact number. I remember getting on the scale at Brainerd and it was around 3000lbs. With full interior. Saturday night I decided to remove the seats and use a light weight race seat, remove bumper beam in front(rear already gone), remove condenser fan, strut bar and swap rotors. I'd say I took out almost 100lbs. Never expected anything better than 10.9x but somehow it kept getting quicker. At the same time trapping the fastest ever for me.

Re: Rock Fall Sport Compact Day, Sept 17th?
2900lbs is pretty light for an Evo, my stripped 1G weighed in at 2860.
