You can't flash a 97 ecu only 98 &99 h8 ecu's. This ecu would be able to have the 2g non-eprom conversion to run link.

edit: That part number and plastic case doesn't match up with a 97 gsx, it may possibly be a flashable h8 ecu based on the part number on the case its dependent on the rom id though.
