Who's got a 1G AWD Auto DSM? Need some help!

Hi Guys,

I decided to make some front tubular cross member, similar to the one's Paul Volk has been offering but better and chaper. They are either one piece or three pieces. I do know for a fact that they fit the 1G AWD M/T 91-94, but no idea on the automatics. Had a few people volunteer to send me some, but that didn't pan out. Someone from Ohio measured his front crossmember and motormount and said that it is IDENTICAL to the manual tranny cars, just the motormount bracket on the block (front/rear) is different. I want to confirm this as there are a few people that want to buy them. If someone has a 1G auto and would mind trying one for me or if I can just come and try it myself rather than mailing it ... that would be awesome.

You can either reply to this thread or send me a PM.

Thanks in advance.

Here are a couple of pics of the part that I made.

Front motor mount is different, if memory serves correct the front and rear brackets are different actually.

On a 1G, the front and rear should be the same since they attach to the engine, not the tranny. 2G's would obviously be different.

Thanks for all the reply's guys. I got it all sorted out. I ordered a front rollstop from Satan, figured out the difference and made the jig. Tested it on a fellow member's car and it fits. YAY!

For the archives here is what I found after some messing around in the Mitsu ASA parts application:

1990-1994 AWD DSM Manual Transmission

Front motormount bracket - MD133347
Rear motormount bracket - MD136195
Front motormount - MB436490
Rear motormount - MB436495
Crossmember - MB518381

1990-1994 AWD DSM Automatic transmission

Front motormount bracket - MD152506
Rear motormount bracket - MD143793
Front motormount - MB581635
Rear motormount - MB581640
Crossmember - MB518381
