Alpine Type-R's are awesome, but really shine when you use an external amp with them. Something like a 500x4-800x4 would be great.
One other thing that helps is speaker baffles(
http://tinyurl.com/2cvzn7k ). Otherwise on some cars they tend to get a "tin" like sound when the frequencies go through the whole door, or trunk.
And then of course there's dynomat. It's heavy, it's expensive, but it makes audio sounds better. Along with helping with road noise.
