Re: Big Brown's Automagic - The last episode in my DSM story.
pewp update.
So I bought some evo 3 intake manifold last year and had it sent to a friend on the east coast who does great porting. Has flow data to back up his work and has shared it.
I've been trading him parts I'd be throwing away in the trash for his labor on porting that manifold.
supposedly it's painted or powder coated black.
I've sold my tires of the FD wheels, picked up some beat up evo 8 wheels and tires to roll on for now on the street, although that will be tough with no suspension.
I sold that in hopes of picking up some new coilovers that everyone else runs.
It will make it easier to dial in and give me a bit more clearance for slicks.
I'm planning on taking the whole family to England for xmas so I'm not sure the car will get done this year, but I'm going to try.

Re: Big Brown's Automagic - The last episode in my DSM story.
lol, PG1 would be a miracle with the dollars it needs/wants.
Only good thing is that I will no longer be gone for the whole month of June like I was supposed to be for military training.
I'm even dodging that saturday at work, I won't lie I do want to make it, but being honest I don't think it will happen unless all the stars/moons align somehow.

Re: Big Brown's Automagic - The last episode in my DSM story.
PG2 is on the map so far, I'm going to the dells for PG1 hopefully taking the bmw if I can get it done.
I need to try and find a machine shop to get me setup for a half fill, main studs and a kiggly main girdle then I might try to tackle this assembly business myself.
Any experienced help is welcome.

Are you really shootin for the moon or what? What kind of a setup do you eventually wanna end up with that needs a half fill, etc?

Re: Big Brown's Automagic - The last episode in my DSM story.
I don't know where it will end up so if rather build once, a lot of research has prompted this as a standard move for anything 600whp and above.

Kiggly girdle is nice, block fill seems like overkill.

Re: Big Brown's Automagic - The last episode in my DSM story.
Lame sauce update, I haven't given up hope on this yet.
I picked up a stock exhaust manifold and o2 housing and a big 16g to help speed up the assembly process.
Just started a new job so focused on that and the million other things going on.
I'm also hoping to sell my 540i and pick up a C5.

C5's are good, cheap fun. I miss the black one I had sometimes.
